Yumekui's not a great no doubt, but it's not a bad little series; especially given the limitations of what can be done with a single cour series.
Whilst it's not likely to be particularly memorable, it's at least not particularly unlikeable or a series you'd actively want to forget either. Unlike some series I've watched, the pacing seems reasonable and it doesn't get too stale; and unlike some of the others, it's not felt like a series I have to tell myself to watch the next episode to get it done.
Actually to be fair, I find a lot of JC Staff's work that I've seen similar with a few exceptions; all are reasonably decent (average or better) and watchable, but often not stand out, with a couple of notable exceptions like Toradora! For some reason they also seem to be quite good (at picking?) likeable Tsundere's as main characters in some of thier shows, who have a touch more depth than the stock variety (Shana, Mikoto and Taiga come to mind).
[Oh that and they have somewhat of a reputation for anime only endings and characters that don't work as well as the original material; but hey, they're limited by what they can work with to some extents so I can forgive them this one, it's not often an adaptation is up the quality of an often much-loved original source]
I always watch series after they're done, so I've not touched anything from this season yet, but those two, amongst others, are already on my list to check out next season
I'm going away for a week in the sun next Friday, so likely going to watch something short once I finish Yumekui so I have a chance to finish it. Might try Myself, Yourself which I remember Andi recommending a while back.
