True tears has chickens?
I may have to check it out ;)
It sounds like the fun sort of slightly different thing that I sometimes like, I've sort of reached the point with anime where I tend to like stuff that's a little different to keep it "fresh" (although that doesn't stop me enjoying stupid fan service stuff from time to time).

I finished HSotD, which was fun once you get over the boobies and panty shots, I hope they do make a second series :)

I'm probably going to finish Shuffle this evening, and then move onto Soul Eater, or possibly a break from anime for a day or two to watch the IT Crowd V4.

As do I since I got really hacked off when they ended it where they did (which would only cover about the first 3 volumes of the manga)

Well on the terms of zombie material, it looks like Sankarea is getting an anime, although given the manga hasn't been going that long, I'm not sure how it'll turn out. I'm not convinced it'll be that good given how relatively early into the story the manga is right now.
Potentially it could be fun though, you don't see Rom-the-zom com very often!

Whilst it does have chickens as a plot element but it is definitely a reasonably normal romantic drama.

Ichigo has gone hollow again, however considering his hollow powers none of the other captains has sensed him. Perhaps it's because the other captains are too busy with their clones of sorts.

I don't know :(

I'll try and check it out ASAP :)

I finished Shuffle last night, which was pretty good, certainly enjoyable but not really a "grabber" for me (it didn't grab my attention 100%).

I was going to start on Soul Eater today, but the postman bought me a surprise, namely my last TRSI order with Spice and Wolf S1 blu, so tonight I shall mainly be watching Holo and Lawrence on their financial adventures :) (and when that's finished, I shall continue it with S2;)).

I've noticed over the last few orders that TRSI seem to be doing more compact packaging than they used to, everything used to come in big boxes with spacers regardless of the size of the items, where now they seem to be using smaller boxes for small orders (similar to the ones used by some of the other retailers for books/small DVD sets).
So far it seems to be working ok for protection but I hope with more fragile boxes they'll stick to the older big boxes with spacers.

Finished Spice and Wolf S2 earlier this evening. I can see why some people don't like the seeming lack of much story progression in the series but I, personally, think that it worked very well and thoroughly enjoyed the series ... apart from it really needing about another 2 episodes as the end point was a bit; huh? they're ending here?

Also rewatched the latest Usagi Drop and Hanasaku Iroha as well as watching the latest Idolm@ster (which was delightfully farcical).

I notice that UP have Bamboo Blade (UK release) heavily discounted at the moment. Nice series about (mostly) girls doing kendo in high school.

Glad you enjoyed it Andi, you can possibly see why we're clamouring for more books to be translated with that sort of ending :D

What did you think of the situation with the sound?

Will take a look at my funds and perhaps order Bambo Blade at that price if it comes recommended (had never heard of it before) :)

I've started rewatching S&W, and I'm really enjoying it, I think it helps that this time round I know roughly what's going on so I can just sit back and enjoy it a little more :)
Also one of the nice things about Blu-ray's that I don't think has been mentioned before, the subs can be readable on at a smaller scale compared to the picture than with DVD's, so they don't take up as much screen space :D
Although I do think Funi could do with making the borders around the subs a little better, as white subs with a very thin border do tend to blend in with bright/white pictures (not a major problem, but a couple of times it's been a little harder to read).

Cheers for the heads up on bamboo blade, I've ordered that :D

I've also realised we're nearly at 10k posts in this thread

The sound was ok with me, if lacking a bit in stereo spread, but I was watching using headphones.

I do like Bamboo Blade and would recommend it, particularly for that price. It does have it's flaws, and I do prefer the manga ... although that is mainly because the anime suffers from the usual it could do with another season. It is a bit silly at times and I try despeerately to mentally block out the baka-rangers shorts but the main series is good.

Agree totally ... it's nice that the subtitles can be smaller and of a better font ... but viewing them at times against lighter backgrounds can be difficult and that's not just a Funi issue.

Has anyone noticed there is a preair for Working'!! available earlier this week? I just happened to come across it by chance, seems good so far.

It was ok. I can't say I was overly impressed with the first season due to it's lack of any real plot ... hopefully that is something they will fix in the second season (and hopefully NISA will license it and produce a nice release like that for the first season)

We've mentioned previously how the OP and ED for Usagi Drop are pretty nice, fun, tracks. Well finally got around to ripping the OP, ED and OST singles (which had been sitting on my coffee table for at least a week) and shoving them down onto my iPod.

The full versions are really nice, (and the DVD music video included with Sweet Drops is fun), but the OST has a couple of nice gems with piano only (no vocal or other instruments) tracks for both the OP and ED. These are really nice chill out tracks.

Also copied over the first OP and ED singles for Hanasaku Iroha (second ones and the OST are currently in the post to me).

If you have watched the latest episode then you would have heard the piano version of the ed. But yes I wish more op and ed's were up to that standard. Once again was a decent episode.

Yep, heard that when I watched the episode earlier, although it is the piano version of the OP not the ED.

Finished re-watching Genshiken season 1 earlier, nice series and I like the detail in the club room but the character designs are not really ageing well and are starting to look rather primitive at times.

Well, I've not been watching much this last couple of weeks; so managed to blitz through the last half of 11 Eyes today as I hadn't really watched any in 2-3 weeks. Man what a dissapointment, the first few episodes had some potential for it to be interesting but it was completely thrown away and genericised/over-shounen'd about half way through; probably in a rush to make it through the material.

Throw on top the mess of an ending which was pretty much bad end then good end and yeah....a bit of a mess.

A shame as I'd thought it might have been a nice relaxing watch based on the first couple of episodes :(

I finished the first series of Spicey Wolf last night which was very good, i'd forgotten how it ended.
Series 2 is already in the player for tonight.

Watched something a bit old earlier ... Galaxy Express 999. Given it's age (Wiki says 1979 which would have made me 4 when it was released!) the animation is a bit old-school but I found the film thoroughly enjoyable over all. I've got Adieu to watch tomorrow.

Also watched the first half of Corpse Princess. I'm not really into horror and violence but again this was quite a good watch. Hopefully I should be able to finish the other half tomorrow.

Off to find something to watch this evening now :)

I loved dragonball absolutely epic series far better than dbz.

Also finnished Black Lagoon few days ago all I can say is "WOW" such an amazing series but don't think I want to watch the new episodes without the american dubs :P
