The AMD Driver Thread

You guys got any idea why voltage control would not be available through afterburner on 290x.

Well, it's available on one card, but other two remain greyed out.

Was working before, as used +50mv and upped the clocks to 1100. Was only recently started getting black screens in advanced warfare and noticed artifacts in mass effect that went investigating.

Reinstalled afterburner, no diff. Reinstalled 15.3, no diff. Used ddu and went back to mega, no diff.

Voltage control just doesn't want to work anymore.

Other gpu will be grayed out while it's sleeping wake it up, restart afterburner and option should be there.

Disabled ULPS or use hwinfo64 and select wake up GPUs.

Good luck getting a reply, Have asked a few Q's about *nix to only get ignored as you seem to have been

The exodus to NV is only going to get bigger due to the lack of info/support on the subject (I'll be one soon too  )

What's the question Pete? I'll try to get an answer for you and Smogsy.

Will there be a Witcher 3 crossfire profile ready for release next month Matt?

We will have the best available CrossFire optimisations in our latest catalyst releases for launching game titles.

For those of you having downclock issues (or lack thereof) in desktop with 144hz monitors, have you ever tried using the 2d/3d profile setup with afterburner? I apologize if I missed this. I've always used this method with success.

here you go matt

Any idea when your going to release a decent AMD linux driver?

my friends are having issues, specially with Xfire. their seeing terrible performance On steam games

http://openbenchmarking.org/prospect...e3949e92742cfd

shows you how bad it CAN be 750 TI almost beats a R9 290.

I know Linux is Not Top priority but it will be soon with Steam OS, & Nvidia a propriety company unfortunately running rings around you on a Open source platform which AMD said it supports!..

Come on Get your performance UP & next Round i put AMD in consideration. Till then i cannot buy AMD. I want to move to Linux End of this year early next full time.

Its Very bad for the future....

What's the question Pete? I'll try to get an answer for you and Smogsy.

1. Is freesync been implemented into the Linux driver ? I've seen Dyinglight probing to see if this is available for use in *nix so leads me to think yes. But When! if it is.

2. Opengl performance ? Is there likly going to be improvments on the opengl side of the driver? As smogsy and I have already pointed out. It's dyer compared to the green team.

3. Regards the new Vulkan API. Whats the support going to be like, Is it likely to be as bad as what opengl is at the moment?

4 xfire? Smogsy has already mentioned it. I dont use it, I'm daft enough to use AMD in linux but am not crazy :p

5. Time on above Q's and issues? As in, week/month/years.... You get my meaning. Saying it's happening is not an answer. Been waiting on opengl improvments for 18 month.
Point out to your superiors/fellow reps that the linux issues needs addressing, as a certain poor rep on OCUK is getting some serious grief of the state of it... :p

6. Where's the 15.3 beta driver for Linux????????

Side note, This is not a dig/stab at you Matt personally. It's aimed squarely at AMD if thats how the above comes across.

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before but will the ghosting with Freesync monitors be fixed via a driver update or will that have to be done hardware side ?

I only ask as according to a few reviews, Freesync monitors have more ghosting than G-Sync monitors presently.

Matt have you seen this?

Was messing around on Neverwinter lastnight; put vsr up to 3200 x 1800 *haven't done the hack yet for 4k* and I was all boxed in and couldn't move past certain points.

Think Neverwinter wasn't playing nice with VSR....will need to test and will do a recording of it.

Posted a bunch of new videos on youtube if people are interesting......got to say loving VSR and recording of games :)

Just in time for GTA V, smart man. :)

Added 15.3 Beta to the second post.

Matt, I have the ROG GHz card, plus the Gigabyte OC card, is it simply a case of picking the fastest card as the "first" card? In addition I despise Afterburner, and Trixx freezes, so is it a case of Asus tool or nothing?, and should I go for very modest clocks bearing in mind they are crossfired?

Also, an Antec 900w is enough right?

*sorry for barrage of q's

I'd put the hottest card as the top card. If temps are not a problem then put the best clocking card in the first slot.

You can use afterburner to sync clocks and voltages so you can clock both cards at the same time, if that's what you prefer.

Doesn't seem to matter what I do with voltages, advanced warfare doesn't like anything over 1075 on cores.

Oh well, on the other hand, I no longer have crossfire disabled and it seems to be running ok with three cards. Haven't tried maxing to see if crossfire actually working but going by temps on cards, it looks like all three being used.

Just using omegas for now, as am wanting to see if I get as many DisplayPort link failures on them. Might be premature to say just yet, but so far seems better.
