The AMD Driver Thread

Ok so my mate owns the strix Fury pro. His system freezes ever few times on windows start up, failing to get past the windows logo, and sometimes in game when changing graphical settings. Anyone have this problem?

After this happens he must start in safe mode boot the computer and restart as normal otherwise it keeps hanging. Then when it's managed to successfully boot there is a display "driver stopped responding" message, but is pretty much fine to game on.

We've tried different drivers, disabling ULPS and no luck.

Does this sound like a software error or a duff gpu?

your mate needs to tell us the rest of the system specs ;)

Get your mate to disable UEFI and CSM in the BIOS. Set to legacy only to see if that helps. My R9 Fury Sapphire did this due to the GPU BIOS not liking my boards UEFI setup.
 
I think it will only be for fiji. 3xx series already is being utilised and optimised to great lengths, fiji is just being left out with all that potential. Obviously if the driver gives another considerable boost for 3xx series as well as fiji, it will be great, but I just feel that 3xx/2xx series have been dried out by driver team.
