The AMD Driver Thread

You would hope so lol. Plus Fallout 4 and battlefront in the next couple of weeks aswell.
I personally just hope for crossfire support. Running 3440x1440 I need crossfire to work or I just have to turn off too much which defeats the purpose of having two cards.

If its just a big GUI redesign and its been rebuilt and runs faster im hardly all excited for it. I mean i'm happy that its got a overhall but im not like OWWWW CANT WAIT FOR TOMORROW TO GET THAT NEW GUI!!!!
More like ohh cool ill probably download it at some point then. Now if its got some good performance improvements all round then yea i'm interested. I stare at games not driver GUI.

The Shader Cache feature is a great addition, it's eliminated all microstutter in Battlefield 4 and all Frostbite games in QuadFire Fury X for me. DX11 now plays as nicely as Mantle does.

Will the new thing play ball with my 7970's? :)

Shader Cache?

And what do you mean DX11 now plays as nicley as mantle does? In just BF4? Or just in general?

Read the anandtech article for more detailed information.

Shader Cache will reduce level loading times and provide smoother gameplay the second time and beyond you play a game/level, as the Shaders are compiled and then stored in a Cache on your hard drive and will be used next time you play. The difference is night and day for me in the Frostbite engine, which has never been favourable towards four GPU's, unless you were running under the Mantle API.

flickering in call of duty with crossfire enabled aka no crossfire then? I await the day when every AAA release has a proper crossfire profile ready at release.

No doubt the same old will still go on about slow drivers and no game support though

Apart from one or 2 games where AMD have been late and only by a week or 2 at most for "crossfire" users, I don't see why so many still use this as an excuse against AMD especially when nvidia went through quite a few months with awful unstable drivers yet they are still somehow so much "superior"... There is no excuse for the lack of crossfire support for elite although I have a feeling that there is more to it than just AMD "slacking"....The drivers are pretty much flawless for single card users though.

In theory that sounds "stunning" Lets hope it reflects well in the majority of games and not just a couple.

The problem is Nexus that with 4k monitors and ultrawide 3440x1440 becoming more popular you need that extra horse power to have all the bells and whistles turned on which is why we buy two cards in the first place. For the people who have crossfire and buy AAA games at release by the time a profile comes out two weeks later the game is already completed lol.

Yes but has there not only been a couple of games where AMD have missed release day by a week or 2?

I can understand the frustration for 2 week delays but I don't think a few days to 1 week is too bad tbh especially when the issues AMD seem to have is with regards to nvidia sponsored games.

Seriously? So a new game gets performance bumps but yet again crossfire users have to wait? Not exactly doing a good job of selling multi gpu when its always a waiting game =/
