Try the new driver.

AMDMatt any answers to my problem
can only oc my Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Nitro+ OC 8192MB memory to 2100 on wattman
is that a problem with wattman and 16.8.1 drivers still unstable not going to try the hotfix as so many have had even more problems with it
I've not had the 100% GPU load with these yet, but if i dont up the power limit my core clock doesnt stay maxed out. Add 10% and it maxes in 3DMark, without the extra power its at around 1250 core instead of 1306 (can see the difference in 3DMark scores too), and in games my load is up and down like a yoyo, 100% then down to even 0% and anything and everything inbetween. Surely this isnt right, my 7950 never did this.
Had this problem on 16.8.1, 16.8.3 and now these 16.9.1 drivers.
Power Efficiency and Compatibility Mode are disabled.
Whats going on here guys?
Im getting the same fluctuations at stock or overclocked, both with +50% power limit. And it seems anything i do on an idle desktop is pushing the GPU clocks up and down, from moving the mouse, right clicking desktop and playing Twitch streams even with hardware acceleration disabled in Chrome.
I just want my CPU to do all these things and the 480 just to do my gaming tasks, is that too much to ask from an RX 480 and its drivers?
This must be why 0db/0% fan speed is giving high temps, because the GPU is being utilized for even the smallest tasks done on the displays that the 480 is hooked up to, i have 1 monitor hooked up to my 480, the other 2 are hooked up to my 6700K's iGPU and when i do stuff on those other 2 monitors the 480 is fine with no fluctuations in clock speeds.
Try and replicate this and you might understand what im getting at here.
The fluctuations i get are the loads bouncing around anywhere between 0% and 100% while gaming even though the clocks stay maxed at whatever i overclock them too, which in turn i think is causing stutters sometimes in games. Im sorry if i didnt explain this properly.
Edit, The fluctuations i was talking about was the Load % that i see in GPU-Z
Omg my mouse hasn't currupted all day!!! Woohoo.
So for GTA V I can use rivatuner at 143 fps cap and it has the same effect as your mentioning??? 144hz freesync display.
FRTC is framerate target control. It's built into the AMD drivers you simply create a game profile and set the max FPS you want that game to run at.
I see a red logo in the sky, it looks like the Matsignal, someone is in trouble!!. They need Matman ASAP.
For you AMDMatt if you can assist https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18752879.
has the gaming evolved app been removed?
Can't recall having to unselect it in reason updates.
@AMDMatt.. So when i run DayZ in borderless window mode i get this crazy stuttering, in full screen its totally smooth and i have no issues at all.
Is this a game or driver issue? Reason i ask is because the way i have fixed the borderless stuttering is by installing RadeonPro and forcing Dynamic Vsync which has got rid of the stuttering, it is now as smooth as full screen and was worth all the hours i put into finding a fix
Are we ever going to get to get Dynamic Vsync in the Crimson settings as an option? Also would a Freesync monitor fix this issue? Is that the reason for no Dynamic Vsync in the driver.. to make us buy a Freesync monitor?
Isnt the Nvidia equivalent to Dynamic Vsync called Adaptive Vsync which they have in their control panel?
Anyway borderless mode is best for streamers as tabbing in and out of full screen takes a few seconds to do and im not even gona start talking about how OBS/Studio has a black screen if trying to use Antialiasing in full screen with game capture, only way around it is in borderless with window capture.
Also, are the DayZ Devs working with you guys on driver optimisations yet?
Cheers
It does list a fixed issue
"Battlefield 1™ AMD CrossFire profile updates for game launch."
That implies the profile is already there from an earlier release. I'll try it in a bit.
ah ok cool, my bad busy at work and not really thinking straight
Game needs a patch, a lot of people me included have had the DX error. Have a look on the forums

I think that AMDMatt in the past has indicated that the RSOD is cpu overclock related. Might be worth turning it down a bit and testing it.
Hows nash got it on a Fury then ?
Not sure when it was added, but 5k DSR is great.
