The AMD Driver Thread

I set mine like this, I don't use Wattman

And nope, these drivers are just causing problems, batman ak, black screen then upon relaunching, not responding then 3rd time after 20 mins or so, red screen....

Going to try without relive, if still unstable then back to 16.11.5 I go....

EDIT:

Well without relive, so far so good....

Don't read this thread much or the NVidia driver one for that matter.

Tried the latest drivers on my 4 way Fury Xs the other day and very pleased with the results, improved performance and totally stable.:)

I have the same GPU and not had a single issue so I have no idea what is going on Nexus

No idea either, every relive driver just been a mess for me, having a quick google around, it still seems like there is a fair share of people having problems with them too.

So far without the relive part being installed, it seems ok atm...

Wattman lists actual voltage and you can adjust it in 0.5v increments. For example Fury X stock voltage of 1.231v will show as 1.230v in Wattman and you can increase it to 1.235v, 1.240v, etc. Same for decrease.
Ah cool, thanks.

Will try wattman out at some point but for now I'm just going to stick with MSI AB.

Well so far the newest drivers without relive installed are working pretty well for me now (haven't enabled wattman and still using MSI AB) so got to be something about relive causing the problems. No biggie for me as I never record/stream and got MSI AB for screenshots.

The first install of these new drivers with the supposed freesync fix ended up being terrible for me. Then i reinstalled the 16.9.2 and ran those trusty drivers for a few days before giving it another try. My last attempt was to uninstall using AMDs Clean Install option and before reboot also DDU whatever might have remained. Then reinstall without relive(dont use it anyway) and now they seem to be stable and solid. Havent experienced anything annoying yet.

Hoping for some help.

Just brought a new XFX 480 8gb GTR model on Thursday, since then I've seen graphical corruption during game-play. Screen would go black then eventually come back on like nothing has happened. Checked event logs and can see AMD graphics have stopped errors. Now I've been on nvidia for last 4 years with not a single issue, is this still a problem with AMD (drivers, and the reason i changed back then)

Do i have to go through previous drivers to find one that works?

Cheers.

Do you have Relive installed?
If yes, do a clean uninstall, then custom install & avoid Relive.
I had problems & that worked for me.

Cheers for the reply, I've tried 2 older drivers, last attempt I left off this relive and still same thing happening.

Doesn't need to be anything to taxing, happens in football manager. I've had a BSOD as well. My 770 was solid as a rock, so it's either driver related or my card is faulty.

This is some of what I get when launching a game, or in a game.

Sorry for quality of last pic, had to quickly take it haha.

What is your system spec CPU etc and are you overclocking at the moment?

0x116 = Low IOH (NB) voltage, GPU issue (most common when running multi-GPU/overclocking GPU)

0x1A = Memory management error. It usually means a bad stick of Ram. Test with Memtest or whatever you prefer. Try raising your Ram voltage

Or instead increasing Voltage if you already Overclocking CPU and RAM etc I would restore all system to factory default and test again and see if the system becomes more stable.

Nope I dont do overclocking.

Like I said my machine been solid using my 770 before I switched, so can't see it being anything other than this card/driver issue.

The only thing I can the say try is follow the guide above try each increase RAM voltage abit and make sure RAM timing are correct or increase the NB voltage a we bit.
Maybe the 480 is just pushing the hardware abit more then the 770 sadly I not 100% sure what is happening here then.
All else fails it might be the GPU is faulty
