GPU-Z has a tab at the top (Advanced) which should tell you if you fail to meet any of the requirements to support SAM.

Both, though the CPU metrics have returned to normal.
The fan is going mental in Plague Tale at the quit screen, temps not going above 55 though, and I have not messed with the fan curve.

Did it work previously? If so what changed.
You should be able to monitor and adjust fan speed in GPU Tuning.
Are you using a full install, or minimal? Might not be available in the latter.
- Install Type:
- Full Install: Provides all Radeon Software features and controls for gaming, recording, streaming, and tweaking your performance on your graphics hardware.
- Minimal Install: Provides only the basic controls for Radeon Software features and does not include advanced features such as performance tweaking or recording and capturing content.
- Driver Only: Provides no user interface for Radeon Software features.
Check that you have the In-Game Overlay enabled (under Preferences) and you have not disabled the metrics (Performance tab > Metrics) which would allow monitoring of fan speeds through the UI and In-Game Overlay.
If the above is all checked off, try a factory reset and a full install.

Just installed and VRAM is downclocking as it should, did clean install and got rid of settings as well.

If you misquoted and meant the new drivers then yea i know most of it is for resizable bar mem stuff. Just wondered how the general driver was, also when is that rsr thing coming lol. Tho doubt it will work for what i hoped it was, a thing to upscale lower res dos games and the likes but oh well. We need a good upscaler for old games through a driver cos some games are resolution locked like say toonstruck or somit like that. Needs more pixels forced on.
And no, vsr doest work cos no resolution options to add to in old games for dosbox era or even say win 95 games like st dominion wars or the likes.

It's obviously not an easy fix, as it says, it is various system configurations. I personally have not had this problem with any of my games.

I agree, other than memory not downclocking for a few versions shortly after the 6800 XT's release they've been excellent. The only problems I've had are with Sapphire Trixx when I was fiddling with the custom resolution option in it, sometimes it would break the Radeon control panel completely by stopping it from loading. Driver cleans and reinstalls didn't work (the CP would load initially after a fresh install but stop working after a few boots) so a format was required. But as I say that was Trixx, and when I stopped messing around with that all has been fine since.
AMD software can create custom resolutions too, unless I'm missing something with how the Sapphire software works?
It certainly can. However, that feature could function a lot better. Whenever I tried the feature it would often completely deny a resolution stating that it wasn't supported by my monitor. Then I try the same resolution in CRU and everything works fine

As Phixator said it does have the function but it's a bit fiddly. Trixx had it simplified with a resolution percentage slider and no refresh rate options.
