How are these benching guys? In the mood to torture my 290s a bit more. They're tough little buggers :D

Identical to 14.6 RC, just has a few small updates to fix a 4K flickering issue and a updated PvZ/Assassin's Creed crossfire profile. CCC version is newer but everything else is the same.

This driver update seems to be torturing my reference 290. Fan is running higher & so are temps. Anyone else experiencing anomalies?

I am aware of the bottleneck, it's going to happen with this CPU, but like I say with Crysis 3 the GPU usage is much higher.....
You locking your frame rate? 60hz? Maybe bf4 on xfire don't need 100% usage to keep 60fps? Could be reason you not getting it.
Crysis 3 is more demanding game so it would also make sense for this to push your GPUs more.

I'm not locking frame rate as far as I'm aware, I understand that Crysis will use more GPU but what I don't understand is why Mantle doesn't use more of my GPU's as it was designed to do with weaker CPU's.

Bottleneck? A mate of mine has a 8350 and cf 7970s, the cpu was bottlenecking his cards even at 4.8.

Try overclocking it evo.

I clocked it to 4.7ghz but really didn't notice a great improvement tbh. Cards are at stock speeds also.

Yep! Think I'll go back to the officials, damn

*********** GRRRRRR BLEEEP

Now I know why I upgraded, the good old youtube flash BSOD in the older drivers. Was just watching a video embedded in a browser and BSOD with an ati driver crash. Had to restart

Annoyed! I miss my NV card :(

You done any other system tests? Ram etc?

Edit
Above I notice you getting graphic glitches on stock could be a damaged GPU then.

Thing is I've played Divinity every night so far without any problems for hours, suddenly it starts throwing up a hissy fit and glitches all over the place. Drop back to 14.4 drivers and played till 3am without any problems.

Load up the computer today since 7pm and about 30mins ago it gives me an ATI bsod while browsing a video. If it keeps doing this and giving me lots of visible problems it will go back, but OCUK is unlikely to sort it out in it's current state. RMA - Nothing wrong with it etc

OK random crashing etc could be ram, have you used memtest86 before? Might be worth leaving on over night if you not done so.
Sorry if you already said all this not read in here for bit.
Have you used DDU to remove old drivers? Is this the same windows install that had the Nvidia driver on?

Na new windows install, always do before a new graphics card. This is just a few months old Win 8.1 :D

I'll keep an eye on it, don't think it's ram as it's a graphics driver or card fault and believe me I've had some really bad rams in the past. Crucial Ballistix *Shudder*

Cheers bud :)

Yeah I had the exact same issues as you, often happens with Facebook where there is multiple videos going on on the news feed. Both 14.6 and 14.7 suffered from this issue and I have read it is to do with Flash and having multiples instances of it running which is true of Facebook.

I have now rolled back to 14.4 and everything is fine again.

Bsod ram is 9/10 the suspect. The graphics driver is holded in ram all the time a failing ram stick while accessing that part of memory can bring up amd driver crash.

II had it once with some corsair ram. But memtest86 picked the bad stick up almost right away.

Loaded up Divinity Original sin last night with 14.7 about 11ish and played till 2am in the morning, no graphical faults or issues.

Very very strange

In regards to the GPU's drawing more power, and getting hotter, does this apply only to 290x's?

I'm not sure if it due to the weather or not (Probably is) I recently changed my 270x's thermal paste (They where hitting 90c :O) So now they are a 63c and 54c respectively.

But do you think the 14.7 is causing all GPU's to possibly draw more power, and get hotter?
