What drivers you using? Make sure it's latest. I do believe they was a stutter issue what was fixed couple drivers ago.

Should be soonish Kaaps, last ones were 14.4 so we're getting near to that three month period.
LT Speculation: 14.7 RC3 will become WHQL and the new 'revamp' drivers with CCC will be the next beta.

You running any raid on your drives? Download and run latencymon sounds like you might have DPC issue.

OK so I'm using 14.4 for my 290...should I update the drivers ?...I'm asking as here and there since I've started using my 290 I get a drop in fps from about 170 fps to about 30 fps for about two seconds then it goes back up again

Great find. Will have a good look over this after I've finished scrubbing the spuds.
Shame they did not do crossfire with 2, 3 and 4 cards then they would have a proper story.
Performance on the 14.xx family of drivers is dramatically better than the 13.xx, it is not even close.

Trying out 14.6 now on Showdown with my 3970X Kaap. A couple of fps behind greg and gee at stock gpu clocks now.

Must wait for Dice to release patch in September. Or you could download the Community testing build.

3970x? When did you make the leap to x79 matt? That and 3 290s...have you had a little windfall??

Jokes aside Kaap did me a good deal so i was able to upgrade, coupled with the fact i was able to return my P8Z77 WS and get a full refund so i only had to pay out £60 for the Rampage Extreme. The Dom Plats are being funded from a combination of selling my psu, 2700k and 16gb sammy greens.
I'm definitely happy with the upgrade and would recommend it to anyone wanting that little bit extra from the cpu, memory, multi gpu & pci-e lanes etc. Not made too much difference to my performance on Mantle though, such is the power of the API.
