Just seen that the 14.9 drivers updated as of 3rd Oct but the black screen / bsod is still on the known issue list and not resolved list :( just looked through some of the expected improvements from the 14.4 driver. I want to touch it :(

As it's not an increment on the release number I'm guessing they simply updated the release notes

Just got my first BSOD. WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.

Google search says it may have come from a bad CPU overclock, but everything is running at stock. I was installing Linux on a VM before I got this problem, hence I am not sure if it is due to the new AMD graphics drivers or otherwise. Probably not related, but you never know :p

if you install something/change hardware, then that is the cause;)

Been playing GRID Autosport for about 2hrs today, and the load temps are still roughly the same.

Not having much luck with AMD drivers lately. :(

With previous ones (14.4?) I was often getting MPC crashes when skipping/jumping through video files. When using eyefinity I get a permanent tear on at least one of the three screens.

Reverted to 13.12 and MPC seems fine.

Tried 14.9 and I'm getting odd instances of complete system lockup, usually when either loading a game or a level. Minecraft launcher even crashed when trying to load the game up. Borderlands 2 locked up on "portal" screen when loading game etc.

Reverted back to 13.12 for now as these seem to be the most stable for me (7970 crossfire setup with windows 7).

I would assume something isnt right with the hardware.
newer drivers might just make it explicit

That was a possibility - although memtest has passed with no issues, and various benchmark/hardware tests seem ok otherwise. Temps don't seem an issue either. Happily play games for hours with 13.12s, and 14.4s as well - except I get the issue with MPC with those.

If there is a hardware issue it's a pretty specific one.

Matt I've got a benq 2420t 120hz monitor and have been using the toastyx strobelight light boost hack to get the monitor strobing for clearer movement. However 14.9 seems to have borked it.

I know this is gonna be way down the list but if you could ask some of your new colleagues what might have changed that would be ace. I'll see if I can give you some more details for my part. Thanks dude.

Here's a link to the monitor tests forum where you can download the exe http://www.monitortests.com/forum/T...tBoost-Utility-for-AMD-ATI-and-NVIDIA?page=56

And here's the link to the thread on here http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18476129&highlight=Strobelight looks like the OP mark might be the man to speak to.

Installed these this morning, and still have the black screen issue. However I have some more info on it now. My PC monitor is DVI, so I decided to connect my TV up to my computer via the HDMI output and everything was fine, however checking all the settings my DVI monitor was not detected at all - so it looks like there's a problem with DVI output with 14.9 and 14.9.1
