Which cards are you using russell?

There is not a profile for Fifa 15 as it's not very demanding. However you should be able to create one yourself if desired using 1x1 optimize. I've tested this myself and it works without artifacts.

Are your gpu's overclocked at all? Are you using MSI afterburner unofficial overclocking mode?

Hi Matt, thanks for the support! AMD should be chuffed to bit with the support you give!

I have 2x Gigabyte 270x's which are Overclocked to 1130 mhz care and 1420mhz memory. My cards are locked voltage so can't go much higher. :( However, I have ran these cards at these clocks for at least 5 months now and run F@H a lot and never had a crash or anything like that.

I noticed FIFA 15 uses like 40% at max settings, and the second GPU turns off as it isn't required, I'll try creating the profile, the graphical glitches start randomly, but most of the time if I go away and leave the game paused for a little while.

In regards the MSI afterburner, I have had the very occasional flickering going on when the cards are idle, I remember having this since 14.4 (I could be wrong) but with two monitors I notice it more, but again it only happens when the cards are idle and drop to (Or below). Could you maybe point out how to manually set the idle 2D clocks on MSI afterburner, as I can't find it anywhere, only the 3D ones?

I don't know how fifa15 is with crossfire cards but previous versions of the game would act up with it enabled. Try create new ccc profile, add fifa15.exe and in crossfire options select disable and save. This should force disable crossfire when the game is running and re enable cf once it's closed :)

a fix from dice expected soonish?

We're working on it.

Thanks russell for the kind words. :)

Please put your cards back to stock for this, as instability here could be causing those artifacts. Also where crossfire is concerned, if the cards aren't fully utilised (99% usage) then overclocking will not really add much more performance. Running stock to get the gpu usage higher will provide better results, at least in fifa 15.

Copy these settings and away you go. :)

If you have performance to spare and want to up the image quality, use supersampling. Ensure you have either x2 or x4 AA selected in the Fifa options prior to starting the game. Then copy these CCC settings exactly.

Doesn't it look nice?

Russell a few screenshots with Supersampling enabled at 4k. I'd definitely recommend enabling it (if performance allows at your resolution) and using the crossfire profile i provided above. :)

Try bumping cpu voltage first, (at least 2-3 notches) then work on the others if it still occurs. I know what you're saying, but this would be my recommended first port of call.

I updated to 14.9.1 and upped my vcore and mem volts a little. Just played Mordor for an hour. Seems fine now Matt, thank you!

Do these 14.9.1 resolve red screen crashing? My rigs been stable until these 14.9's. Been trying to play shadow of mordor on my 290 but I keep getting a lock up to red screen!

Red screen is caused by cpu and or memory timings/voltage instability. Try bumping those voltages at least two notches and see if it still occurs. I've dealt with many red screens and they've all come down to this.

Whoah! :o Massive post innit! Thanks Matt for your input. I have setup Fifa 15 with all the supersampling etc.. (Eyecandy ;)) if my cards can run Titanfall @Insane then they sure as hell can run Fifa at similar settings.

However, something which is really getting on my nerves and I hope you Matt (Or anyone for that matter) can shed some light on it.

At idle clocks, sometimes the screen quickly flickers, I have been told this is down to the lower clocks being used on the cards; thus causing the flickering. However, I am uncertain how to set the idle (Or 2D clocks) on MSI afterburner, if it even possible? Could someone please help me on how to adjust these idle clocks.

Below is a screenshot of how my system looks:

Russell can you show me your afterburner settings please like in the screenshot below? Thanks

If you wish to use 2D/3D profiles then go to afterburner settings, profiles tab and select the profile (1-5) and apply them to the 2D/3D section. It will then load the profile you've selected and saved previously.

Hi matt can you tell me the best fix for shadow of mordor using a 7990, and do you know when amd will be releasing a profile

i am using the tombraider profile, it just seems to stutter now and again any ideas?

thanks
a lot

Hi Matt, again thanks for your input. :)

A screenshot of my afterburner settings:

However, I have noticed with my Fifa 15 it now crashes on the startup screen after trying to connect to EA. :( I have removed the settings and tried again but its a no go.. Strange I'll reboot soon to see if that fixes it.

I will try with the 2D + 3D settings, are the 2D settings in the same place and the 3D ones? I'm new to afterburner, but wish to get to know it more kinda thing. :)

Hi Maka,

The best profile for Shadow Of Mordor now is Crysis 3. Give it a try and see what you think. :)

We will have a proper profile for that soon, don't worry. :)

Those settings look good. Not entirely sure on the flickering if im honest. When does it occur, whilst browsing? Perhaps try disabling hardware acceleration.

Regarding Fifa, i had that earlier too. Disable afterburner, start the game up then load afterburner. It was causing my Fifa to crash as well. My guess is the afterburner overlay was interfering with the game. If it keeps doing it you can tell afterburner to use a 'Custom D3D support' option. This might stop the crashing.

1. Add the fifa15.exe to rivatuner/afterburner
2. Select custom 3d support on.
3. Play.

Hey Guys, my mate who runs a pair of 7950s and an 8350 (that I built) has just text me with an issue. He said he was on 14.9 and auto update started downloading the latest AMD drivers (which he assumed were the same as he had), he let them download and install and now he has a black screen. To save me going there and fixing it, any easy fix I can tell him to do?

Best advice would be to restart, uninstall the current drivers, restart and then install the latest 14.9.1 drivers from the amd website.

Are you sure he's not talking about windows update, as there is no auto update feature just a prompt feature as far as I'm aware. He would've had to download it himself. You can check for updates and visit the download page to download them yourself.

From his text message.

A window popped up saying AMD software update. Think I miss clicked something, as I had never seen that update before but then it went onto driver installation. restarted the PC and it said "Driver update available"

Just black screening when trying to game was his first message.

Matt just a thought, if you guys are working on resolution scaling for the next CCC it's the sort of thing that might tempt a lot people to go Xfire and buy another 290....especially when price drops filter through....

just a thought...

Keep us posted about bf4 too big man. thanks!!

Told him to do that. He is at work till 10pm (hahahahahahahaha) and will do it after. Fingers crossed that will sort it.

Hi Greg,

Just checked with the drivers guys and tested it myself. It's impossible to make the driver auto install after download, you need to click a bunch of things to even download the drivers yet alone install it. I think it's possible if you clicked check for updates, download twice and then finally install. :p

I'd recommend restarting, that should bring back the display. Then going through the process i mentioned above.
