I am still running trusty 14.4's, do the latest 14.9.1's have the temp increase that the post 14.4's suffered from?

I went back down to 14.4 as i was having issues with 14.7 and 14.9. Although i would add that i get noticably lower 4K score using 14.4 over 14.7. My cards kept on getting stuck in low power on 14.9 and my overclocks wouldn't hold in 14.7.

I use two blue rigger cables for my monitor connection, fully gold plated and all that jazz and they are really good. They cost around £10 each at the time from the rainforest.

Thanks for the reply Matt, I have sent another mail. :)

This could be the problem then, often the supplied cables aren't up to standard. It was the same with the 4K monitor i got, i had to buy a certified cable as well. Best bet would be to look at the cable and check if it's DP 1.2 certified. If you're still unsure, contact the monitor manufacturer to check.
You'd think they would include a suitable cable lol. From reading posts by others it seems the supplied cable works fine for Nvidia users.

Also I'm the problem is getting worse each day. Running at 120Hz the blank screens used to happen maybe twice a day, now it's every 5 minutes. It happens much less when under load (in a game for example) .

Hey Matt, are you chaps working n Crossfire support for The Evil Within?

If I create a custom profile and use AFR I get a performance boost, but the game has lots of flickering, texture tearing, and artifacts.

A single card can't even keep a constant 30fps at the moment.

I will investigate this for you and update you when i have more information. :)

I believe ID Tech engine doesn't work with crossfire?

Worked fine in RAGE, and Wolfenstein for me. If they didn't well DAMN, Id did a damn good job optimizing those those because at 3440x1440 100% maxed out it ran like a dream on a single D700 FirePro then.

Evil Within is just...*puke* 23-30fps...

Which AMD cards are you having issue with GM?

My R9 290s.

The 'official' cable is now connected to my Nvidia cards. I've not noticed issues with it, but haven't used that PC too much as the cards get quite hot, so I'm looking to solve that.

I've tried 2 cables with the AMD cards that are both nearly fine, but get the occasional flickering issue or split second of black screen.

I need to asks question that amdmatt or anyone with knowledge of drivers could answer, why is it on the last 2 drivers amd have released (14.9-14.9.1) that they don't install properly as when the install is finished I get the yellow question mark instead of the green tick.
I have done the uninstall the same way I always do using uninstall manager first then ddu but it still shows the big yellow (?) why is this?

if it helps, i had the same issue.

i ran ddu to remove everything and the a run of ccleaner seemed to fix it.

ran installer and it seemed to work fine.

Have you tried installing it without CCC? I had to run the install manager (after uninstall and DDU) and then choose custom install, untick CCC, reboot, install CCC when I was trying 14.9 though using 14.9.1 and not had an issue with graphics apart from when I've gone past a stable setting ;)

AMDMatt, you were right. I have bought a certified DisplayPort cable and the random black screens at 120Hz have stopped.

The major issues at 144Hz however remain exactly the same :(
