** The AMD Navi Thread **

My OCUK invoice from August 2016 for my 1080 says £852.79p. I bought a 1080 then a 1080ti HOF May 2017 which was £829. Strangely i also bought a founders edition 1080ti for £616 in March 2017.

OCUK Confessional.

Waiting keenly to see if this new AMD card can beat my 1080 from 2016.

Here is my habit I’m ashamed :(

December 2017 - 1080ti strix £798
December 2018 - 2080ti strix £1350

RX 5700XT and RX 5700 spotted on FINAL FANTASY XV Benchmark database!

AkynB9n.png

http://benchmark.finalfantasyxv.com/result/

RX 5700XT is behind GTX 1070 Ti. RX 5700 is behind GTX 1070 and slight faster than Radeon VII.

Quick Maffs based on those numbers - 5700XT - Approx 20% faster than a Vega 64/1080.

5700 - Approx 10% faster than a Vega 64/1080.

If true the 5700 is 10% faster than a 1080FE and as quick as a 1080 Custom.

That is exceptional for the base card and is exciting news. That would infer that the 5700XT is indeed quicker than a standard 2070 by the amounts listed in the AMD slide.

On a benchmark that is a complete mess and favours Nvidia massively!! But I wouldn't expect anything else from yourself, let's wait and see how well it does on a real game that is well optimised without TrashWorks!

I mean just look at how horrible the games frame latency is even on Nvidia here!! A total pile of GameWorks Trash!!

Umm a 2070 and a 1080 are both on there higher than the 5700xt already?

No no no, you're doing it wrong. You're supposed to see what you want to see, not what's actually in front of you ;)

5700xt clearly blows the 2070 away! Squint really hard and you'll see that.

I am ignoring the bench itself and looking at the performance differential in the numbers between past cards.

Well tbh thats pointless , If you wish to use the bench at all then you cant just ignore the other cards as you see fit. I'm not knocking the 5700xt it seems the best card from amd atm really.

re-read my post. you can use this bench to confirm using maths that the previously released performance slide from AMD is on the money.

Or you can wait for real benchmarks and not have to use supposition to come to conclusions?

Especially if, as claimed, this benchmark is a statistical outlier.

the leaked fire strike score from yesterday seems to indicate the same performance variance from Vega64 to this new card.

You can still calculate a variation from a skewed bench assuming all cards have been tested similarly.

We are looking at 12-20% boost on a vega64 which means that the Non-XT will be as quick as a 1080FE maybe as quick as a custom.

The conclusion is therefore the Non-XT respin for next year will deliver a £250/console class gpu that can push 1080p/hdr at 100fps.

It is a game changer.

Putting the hype train into maximum gear.

Not really matey, the GTX1080 launched in 2016. It has taken over 3 years to get close. 4 years if you include the respin/console launches next year.

Well possibly the only good thing to come out of any of this is the high resale value for Nvidia owners. Due to lack of competition and lack of big upgrade from Nvidia, older Nvidia cards are holding their resale value really well. nvidia secondhand cards is now like buying secondhand iPhones.

I just checked and over here converted to pounds the cheapest 1080ti secondhand I could find is 550 pounds. That’s a great deal for the person selling the card and what is a 2 and a half year old card
