** The AMD Navi Thread **

hahahah deleted :D

That's pretty good. Matching an overclocked 2070.

(AMD were saying it'll be maybe 5% on average better than the 2070, but no doubt they used a stock clocked card)

If it comes in £400-£410 with some games, I'll get the 5700XT. First time an AMD card will be in my primary machine since the 7950 I think (although I have separately used a 480).

Ok, had a chance to test Fidelity FX for myself. Can't really tell a difference tbh! But then there's not much to separate 4K from 85% 4K either, so...

Error, poor comparison.

The lighting is totally different in the images, so the load on the GPU is different.

Pick a game a game or scene that is static to test

So 2% slower than 2070fe in a benchmark that favours Nvidia cards. That ain't to bad considering it's 17% faster than the Vega 64. If that translates to games then it should come out around where AMD said at 5% faster than a 2070 baring in mind the FE is an OC card as well.

This is not really a comparison you can make against Vega. Navi and Vega are different architectures and synthetics may not translate to what is seen in games, let's just wait for proper reviews.

This is once again a graph that looks like a 5 year old made it

Please explain your reasoning.

It was explained earlier in the thread from other perspectives.

If the lower end of these navi cards can push anywhere near 1080p/100fps/hdr in very high settings (not ultra) - we know with a good amount of probability that this could be a grail card once they respin it in 2020.

A £250/Console class GPU that finally a) eclipses a £800 1080 gpu b) means you don’t need a PC to hit decent frame rates.

You can't compare their scores

Navi and Radeon 7 use different architecture and the relative scores here won't translate into games

For example - my 2080ti gets 15,900 in timespy but is my 2080ti twice as fast as your radeon 7 in games? Very unlikely. Its the exact same story, Navi scoring high in Timespy doesn't mean it beats a Radeon 7 in games

Sorry, what? My brother bought a 1080 last year for £500.

When were 1080s ever £800?

I guess the 5700XT is fantastic when you compare it to a £36,999 RTX2700 also ;)

They were taken within seconds of each other. I only noticed it turned out dim for one in the picture after I was out, but it's irrelevant anyway as I was looking more for IQ differences. I added FPS just because hey why not. The framerate was uncapped so I can assure you the FPS is legit and taken from in-game over 30s sitting in the same spot.

My OCUK invoice from August 2016 for my 1080 says £852.79p. I bought a 1080 then a 1080ti HOF May 2017 which was £829. Strangely i also bought a founders edition 1080ti for £616 in March 2017.

OCUK Confessional.

Waiting keenly to see if this new AMD card can beat my 1080 from 2016.
