** The AMD Navi Thread **

If I upgrade my 1070s I go for the Navi cards I don't need a 2080/2080ti, I game on a 27" 1080p 60hz, also the price of the Navi be Cheaper.

I'd wait for non-reference Navi's if I was you.

I would not bother upgrading until you up your resolution or refresh rate

He can use the extra performance by upping the VSR/DSR resolution, Treat it like any other graphics setting, even though it isn't a true resolution increase it does make the game look better using any spare performance available with a stronger gpu.

Interesting, and worrying for me as I just bought a Vega 64. Looking around it seems the 5700XT is 15% quicker than the Vega 64, but I paid 20% less than £380. Will wait and see, but I cannot see the Nitro+ (or whatever Sapphire call it for the next lot of cards) being less than £450. So I think (maybe) I made the right choice.

64 is still a cracking card. Dont' worry :)

Can't be. Commentators here (who surely know what they're talking about) have been saying that it's twice the price hence 5700 "must be" £400+ to break even :p
No one ever said it had to be "£400+ to break even" but you were told time and time again at the same size die 16/14/12 vs 7nm the cost is way different. Even that twitter post confirms the waffer price is double on TSMC 16 to TSMC 7... Its a bit hard to try to explain things when someone doesent even understand die size/cost and transistor desnity/cost some would even say pointless...

Good to see AMD lowered their prices, might take on the 5700. I dont know what it is pounds, but radial Vega56 lowest price 250€ and 5700 should be around 80€ more with nice performance boost and much more guiet fan.

Wasnt it GamersNexus who said "do not preoder"? I guess price cut was their plan the whole time.

The cynic in me tells me they were never going to sell it at the original price anyway, why would you let your competitor know what you were going to sell at before you had to.

5700XT 17% increase over a v64 in Far Cry 5 & Shadow of The Tomb Raider, 1440p @ Ultra? Level pegging though in Wolfenstein II: The New Collossus so really depends what you play.

Shame the AIB's aren't lauching at the same time, I suspect they will be more than the blowers though so it still seems a bit over priced to me.

You aren't understanding the graph. It clearly show the cost per transistor is lower, or for a fixed logic it will be cheaper on 7nm which is not surprising. But the cost per area is much more expensive. Navi is the same size as Polaris, so will have much higher production costs.

Apparently a few EU retailers already showing the reduced prices and rumour has it that 5700XT will be $399, which essentially makes the 5700XT blower the same price as the Vega 64 Nitro+.

If that translates to £399 for a 5700XT blower then that's 33% more than a V64 blower for anywhere between zero through to 17% performance increase, based on the benches from the hexus article above.

Think AMD will drop price in the face of Nvidia's Super cards ?

Looking forward to actual benchmarks and reviews from legit sauces xD
Look, I've just bought a Vega 56.

I also have the worst luck in the entire world.

Navi will now be released for £150 and will be 3x faster than a 2080 Ti. Watch this space.

Couldn't be arsed to sell the games and they were only going for £25 in the MM.

So there's only a fiver in it.

Does mean I've got to start playing some games again now. Haven't played or even thought about playing games for probably a year now :p

Which was probably because the noise of the 480 was like a room full of XBox 360s mining crypto.
