*** The AMD RDNA 4 Rumour Mill ***

the most popular RT capable cards are the RTX3060 and RTX4060.
That's being very kind to the 3080 and 4060 ;)
£1000 on a Guitar sounds a better deal than £1000 on a graphics card which will be out of date in 4 years.
Without a doubt - buying something with an eye on selling it seems bonkers, outside of property or shares.
As someone with no interest in RT but now having to pay attention to it because of game requirements, isn't it a case of not all RT being the same? That some RT effects have a lower hit to performance than others.
Yep, if you want impactful RT you need to have the capable hardware. Games like RE4 and Cyberpunk are the complete opposite ends of the spectrum. I imagine the newer mandatory RT games will have both.

I have a feeling the 5070ti are all gonna end up being £800 + regardless of the msrp. *snip*

Part of me is thinking about jumping on a 7900xtx before those are gone
Imagen playing 800+ for a 60 class GPU just because it has nvidia branding. You gotta be born yesterday and below a rock to find that acceptable.

I actually thought about doing the same regarding the 7900XTX, sadly they are holding their value and 720 pound(In Denmark with tax) which is the cheapest new is just to rich for me. 2nd isn't much better and availability is very low. Nobody wants to sell it seems.. sensible people :P

The only worry I have is that mandatory RT could become ever more common. Fast forward to 2027, could the majority of big releases depend on RT performance?
I was just going to say/ask the same thing. Can anyone with a 7900XTX confirm how well Indiana Jones runs (an RT mandatory game), as surely that should give us a real world indicator? Im thinking whilst you can’t turn RT off completely, it may be fine with it turned down to the lowest setting?

The lack of RT performance alongside devs mandating it is the only reason I’m hesitating switching from ngreedia. It’s also a real shame AMD appears to have bowed out of the high tier card race.

Denmark is selling it cheaper than anywhere in the UK, If I could see one at £720 I would buy it today and forget about the latest generation.

On the Nvidia thing, They have brought out some fantastic cards in the past, luckily for me I had an EVGA 1080 Ti when it came out and it lasted me 7 years with no performance issues. I think this type of card bought them a lot of good will and their top card since then has always put the AMD cards in it's shadow. I personally don't get seduced by branding, I look at everything in it's own individual merit, but a lot of people do have brand loyalty, I personally don't get it but it is what it is.

I don't know about how it performs in that particular game but as far as I know the RT is a similar performance to the 3080 which is still pretty decent albeit not as good as the upper end 4000 series cards.

Indiana Jones is quite a well optimised game. I'm more concerned about AC Shadows and the like

5090 aside, it somewhat seems like Nvidia have as well :D

" I just don't see the 9070XT costing that much and I don't feel like paying 100-150 more for 8gigs of extra vram and worse RT and upscaler performance if rumours are to be believed."

"I've had the 1080ti, fantastic GPU, paid rough 620quid, ended up selling it and buying a VEGA 64 as a flip to Jensen, not that he cared of course :D. Vega 64 was also a solid card once you got it dialed in, managed to almost get it to nip the 5700XT in the heels"

If the rumours are to believe Phixator, the 9070XT is this generations card to buy outside of the 5090 for those that want the ultimate GPU. I just hope the rumours are true.

On the 7900 XTX nothing seems to be coming down in price, so if I seen one at around the 700 mark, I would buy it, if the 9070XT lives up to the rumours then I would be able to get my money back on the 2nd hand market anyway, so i wouldn't really lose out.

However there's no 7900 XTXs around the 700 mark, so I'm going to have to wait anyway, I've been waiting from August for the newest generations (I bought a 6950xt on prime day for 399 to tide me over) so another 2 months isn't going to kill me.

With the yet to be released RDNA 4 series would having a reduced range be positive step for AMD to progress the Linux side of things with Valve, for example more features for the drivers and easier integration into having a stable Steam OS not just for handhelds? An all AMD desktop with Steam OS could be a great setup.

It runs incredibly well on my GRE at 1440p so I imagine the XTX has no issues at all. I think the 7000 series only really suffer with PT titles.

Retailers have been stocking 9000 series since the beginning of the month, if anything there is more 9000 series stock out there right now than 5000 series stock.

Which is a good thing, this delay to March might turn out OK for amd in the end. It'll be over 2 full months of stockpiling, though Chinese new year could still affect that to some extent.

Hopefully since it will be after new year at least there won't be long gaps between new stock coming in. So even if they do run out restocks will be consistent

I don't think we will need to worry about stock too much. While people will queue for nvidia I don't think amd get the same buzz even if they release a great card at a great price the more casual pc gamer will only look at nvidia.

The RDNA 3 cards on offer are selling like hotcakes again today on overclockers 20 x 7900xt , 6x7800xt and 3 7600
