If a rumour page is able to "explain" circumstance then I guess we may as well believe all rumours.....or not.

It is weird that this has been latched onto so easily when there's nothing else to back this up. Until now it was widely accepted that supply issues caused some delays and now suddenly it isn't supply issues.

I suppose if there were performance issues then we should see Doom running even better than it was shown almost a year ago.

And that's the thing: In the absence of real numbers and statistics, the usual suspects latch on to rumours and make them facts. The argument that "no news is bad news" does not hold up here and the imagination of a few sites shouldn't be taken as gospel.

Let me see official reviews and let's leave speculation at the door.

Seems the first Radeon Pro Vega card the WX9100 has been spotted. So if you want a professional certified Vega workstation card, this is the one to get.

Most likely part of the range also going into the iMac Pro.
https://videocardz.com/70526/amd-preparing-radeon-pro-wx-9100-with-vega-gpu

The new device will join Radeon Pro WX x100 series. The fastest graphics card in these series is currently WX 7100 based on Polaris 10. According to the data from CompuBench, WX 9100 would have 1792 cores more than WX 7100. The listing reveals that WX 9100 has 64 Compute Units (4096 Cores) and a clock of 1200 MHz. Listed global memory size is definitely pointing towards 16GB configuration, so this would be sixth Vega with such memory size.

Of course, this raises a question what makes is different from Radeon Vega Frontier. Frontier seems to be a perfect card for game developers, as it features both Professional and Gaming modes. If I understand this right, the Radeon Pro WX 9100 will be strictly a professional card (for design and manufacturing).

And Vega has been launched in H1. No its not the card lots of people wanted but it meets what they said

From the original locked thread "AMD VEGA confirmed for 2017 H1"

Will launch "Vega" for the enthusiast market in 1H 2017

I'm pretty sure when Doom demo was shown they again said Vega H1.

This has been discussed before. Can we just accept that Vega Gaming / Enthusiast / RX is late........for whatever reason(s) that I'm sure will become apparent at a later date. :)

I'm sure AMD see Frontier Edition as an "Enthusiast" card.

Although yeah, Prosumer =/= Enthusiast to me. Bring on Siggraph!

Think I'll wait for actual news from AMD before believing articles requiring buckets of salt.
Yeah, lets bury our heads in the sand and ignore all rumours. Do you not remember this happening in the Fury and 480 threads and the outcome.......

Eh, the RX 480 rumors and "leaks" were it hitting 1400-1500Mhz on reference air cooling though; and matching the R9 Fury in performance for its launch. :P

We need to remember rumors are rumors, and most are usually made up entirely.

This isn't a polar opposites thing. You don't have to completely believe everything or completely ignore everything.

Take things with a pinch of salt, wait for further information/verification.

No, I'm thinking more of how the clockspeeds were extrapolated with a good dose of overclocking that became a runaway train named "Titan Killer" that action hero Gibbo had to hijack and bring to a safe halt saving numerous forum members lives :p

I agree but sometimes there can be an element of truth in them.

For me the issue is the "good" rumours get hyped too much and the "bad" rumours are often swept under the carpet and ignored instead of there being a balance.

I get ya, I just tend to ignore them all as best as possible. The few times it might be accurate is when Videocardz decide to write about it. He at least has more credibility than all the rest combined.

I actually see it the other way a lot. There aren't many positive rumours about Vega that latched on. Not like yield issues, HBM2 issues, pricing issues, TDP issues, driver issues and availability issues.

I've just replied along similar lines

I think it's partly because AMD have released so little official information, prior to yesterday of course.

Rumor: VEGA has been delayed, but not because of yield issues but because of performance issues

Seems like AMD's driver team hasn't been getting any sleep for the last 6 months. Which matches up to the problem mentioned by Raja during the AMA. Will be interesting to see what they can accomplish.

Don't believe this, but it'll be easy to prove. If it's a driver/performance issue then we should see a hard launch of RX Vega, sooner rather than later, and there will be hundreds of thousands available on release day. It's not like there's only so many drivers to go round.
