The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Avatar: The Last Air Bender

I have started a thread before seeing this but I may as well post here...

I have just finished it and wow, simply wow. What an amazing anime series. Words can't describe how gutted I am that it is now over, the last episodes were incredible!

Anyway, now that it is over what else can you guys recommend to me? I am going to watch the first season of The Legend of Korra which is another Avatar based anime that looks good but want something more intense & full on that I expect it will be.

I have also been watching Attack on Titan which is pretty awesome, i'm up to episode 7 but can't find any more with English subtitles, where have you guys been watching it? I do love the gore and action in it so more like that :D

I'm moving this weekend, got about 50+ figures to pack into their boxes again. Uguu~

I wouldn't say that Steins Gate is a classic series, it is only from 2011, but it was a pretty good watch. It is one of those series you do need to pay attention to whilst watching as the story is pretty convoluted.

I've been a bit quiet recently, but currently watching Kobato and Chobits following recommendation from my fiancee (who I still haven't finished Toradora with, perhaps I'll finish that by the time we're married - we're engaged now! lol)

Quite relaxed, not too far into them as I've been quite busy and off on holiday tomorrow, have to say probably enjoying Chobits so far as it's got a bit more humour in it, without descending into fanservice all the time.

Not sure what I'll watch after I'm done with these, plenty of choices!

I adore Chobits, it's in my top5 for sure and cemented my love for that particular genre of anime, it was due to finding similar anime that I bumped into S&W actually!

I gets really really good about half way through when it explores some very grown up themes. Can't wait for you to finish to discuss them :)

Chobits is great fun, and stands up far better than much of the anime from around that time :) (the original R1 box set was really nice).

I've just had shipping confirmation for Grave of the Fireflies on Blu-ray - I can't remember when I first ordered it, it's been delayed so many times:p
I'm also just about to enter the "drowning in anime" phase, given over the next few weeks there are a load of releases I'm getting :p

well my copy of first half FMA:B Blu-ray complete came Tuesday and sitting on the self awaiting for the second half to be released in October so that I slide into it housing on the first half, then it be time to watch it. :)

I had shipping notice for the second collection of One Piece earlier so I thought I'd best make a start on the first set, seems like a fun series, definitely different to my favourite show that's currenly airing Aku No Hanna.

I need to get around to re-watching Chobits again ... unfortunately there is many things on that list :)

Watched the last episode of Yahari ore no Seishun love comedy wa Machigatteiru – My Teenage Romcom Snafu earlier. Overall I enjoyed the series, which was less of a romantic comedy and more a general light comedy about a small club of misfits who end up helping their schoolmates in various scenarios. The series was reason example of its type and I liked the anti-hero main character. The OP was pretty nice as well.

edit:
Also watched the last episode of season 2 of Chihayafuru ... as with season 1 it is an acquired taste as it is a very slowly paced series about competitive karuta ... and when I say slow were talking multiple episodes taking a match slow. But now we've had two double cour series we have grown to know the characters and to care about them so it is a great series to follow. The back ground music in season 2 continues from the first season in being great and really adding to the series.

Whilst the series does come to a logical ending point it is set up for a probable further continuation.

just watched the final ep of Suisei no Gargantia :( really hope there is a 2nd season

Indeed Gargantia (on the Verdurous Planet) ended very well , but I m annoyed they spent 2 episodes on filler (the beach party and belly dancing ep) and cramed the story in the last few,) My fav show of this season but suffers from poor pacing.

yea a lot of info has been crammed into the last 2 episodes. hopefully the 2nd season (if there is any) will explain how did the commander die and how did they get the orbital driver / cannon thing

Finished Gargantia myself this evening ... generally thought it was a good sci-fi series but one whose pacing was bad at times and could have done with being two cours instead of just the one as it could have given so much more.

A second series .... not sure what it would add really given the what happened in the last episode as I would disagree that the above questions really need further answering ...

The series indicated that the Commander had died due to contracting a disease, whilst the mecha pretended he was still alive there is no reason to doubt that this wasn't the case.

The mass driver was just further technology which had been obtained/recovered. From what was said it was originally used for orbital launches but no longer had the power needed to do that but was perfectly capable for being a weaponsied launcher.

But generally it was a good watch.
