The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

BGC is definitely one of my favourites (and the music is oddly enjoyable:)), not sure how people who are used to more modern animation will take it, but the quality is still good although the style is a little dated.

I've got a pledge in on the kickstarter despite having it in the pink box, and blue box DVD sets already (and I'm fairly sure I had at least a couple of episodes on vhs).

And going by the kickstarter update this morning, it looks likely that the BGC set will have 3 BD50's for content, as the head guy (and his wife*) at Animeigo have said that they'll pay for the authoring etc of the third disk themselves despite it not quite reaching the point at which they'd already said they would do that :)

I'm slightly excited about HD BGC, possibly more so than I really should be given I've seen it so many times (it's one of the first anime I remember seeing, and I've watched it about once a year or more for the past 10-15 years).

*Who I assume is also an anime fan

Lets get this thread going again.

After finishing the 1st and 2nd series of Rurouni Kenshin, I couldn't help but get bored with series 3... sigh.

Watching Attack on Titan now, seems really good. :D

Watched the second GitS Arise program the other day ... thought it was pretty good really. Can't really say more without giving too much away :)

Other than that I'm (successfully for a change) following several currently airing series some of which are quite good (like Galilei Donna, Log Horizon, Kyoukai no Kanata and even Golden Time).

Other than that I've been doing some preliminary research for my trip to Japan next year ... :)

I've barely managed to watch any anime recently, although I did watch Black Lagoon: Roberta's Blood Trail, which was very good, it makes me want to watch the first two seasons again :)

I'm going to try and watch Porco Russo, or Fam the Silver Wing (pt1) in the next few days, but it's hard finding the time (my current sleep pattern is not conductive to watching anime).

i've watched capeta and hero tales over the last week and a half both very good series but I wish their was another season of capeta as toward the end it was getting very good.

My Hyperdimension Neptunia Purple Heart T-Shirt finally arrived from 1999.co.jp today, took just over 2 weeks by SAL to arrive. Second time I used normal SAL (no tracking/cover) and was getting pretty worried. :)

:)

10-14 days for SAL is pretty normal based on what I see, (I've probably had ~50 packages come via SAL from Japan in the last 12 months).

I was actually happy when I got a Customs charge today as the package that is related to was shipped 25 days ago ...

Yeah, but I normally use SAL registered so it comes with limited tracking and cover for lost or damage which is just enough for T-Shirts and small items.

Sadly 1999.co.jp doesn't offer that and EMS is too costy and I don't really like using it since Customs catches you more often.

But like I said before, I had SAL packages arrive in less then a week before, once I had one arrive 3 days after it was shipped. :D

Yeah, I've had ones come in 3 days before now ... but the average over a large sample has been 10-14 days. What I've been ordering mostly has been CDs and a CD plus normal SAL shipping comes in under the customs threshold, unfortunately the one I was billed for this morning is an album rather than a single which takes it over. Using a more expensive shipping method for something that is <£10 isn't worth it, particularly if that then takes you into Customs hell.

I did order some stuff via FromJapan the other day (item was only available from one site in Japan who don't ship internationally or from eBay at a £70 markup on a £110 item) and they have a nice shipping system which not only lets you choose the shipping method but also specify what value is put on the package down to the last yen.

I have so much to catch up on, also waiting for season 2 of Freezing and Infinite Stratos to finish before watching them as well.

There used to be a easy way to keep track of what anime was showing per season etc and what was finished. Anime Countdown i think it was called. But it's been offline for a long time

EDIT - found a good one

Yeah FMA: Brotherhood is an awesome series, im tempted to buy it on blueray aswell even though I got it on dvd.

Have you watched Hellsing Ultimate before, did you enjoy it?

Just bought FMA BD 2nd part for 23 quid. I've watched it once but honestly has there been a better cartoon? The story, the baddies, the drawing quality. Unbelievable.
