The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

At last, it looks like Place Promised and Voice of a Distant star will be out next month :D
I think I've had them on pre-order for about a year now :) (and Eva 3.33 out in March).

It's been confirmed by AL that the information is false as they're still negotiating the dub fees, and Eva 3.33 is likely to be delayed (the Australian release has already announced as being delayed) after funimation announced an indefinite delay to their DVD/BD release as they decided to extend the cinema screenings.

ah heck :(

Oh well, it gives me some time to catch up on other stuff :) (I seem to be lucky to watch an hour of anything a night at the moment, let alone anime).

Watched the DVD release of the first season of A Certain Scientific Railgun this weekend. It's a series which I like, especially the last few episodes where things come to a head. In fact I prefer it to A Certain Magical Index which it is a spin off from. Funimation's translation is a bit ... hmmm ... at times, really "sissy" for "onee-sama" ?

Nice series to watch though .... :)

Finally got around to making a start on Tiger & Bunny that I've had for a while, really enjoying it and it's helping me remember some of the Japanese that I keep forgetting.

These arrived today from Hobby Search, Kantai Collection Tenugui's. :)

Those are nice :)

Rightstuf currently have a sale on for a lot of their DVD's/Blu-rays and merchandise, including their Lithographs.
I may have gone a little wrong...

I've also been starting to try and pick up the Robot series of GN's that Range Murata did, unfortunately not only are they long out of print in English, but it seems we only ever got to about volume 4, whilst the French have up to volume 7 or 8.

[edit]
I also bought a few Kassette boxes from Ikea earlier, so I'm going to try and make a bit of a start on sorting my collection of DVD's and Blu-rays out again, it's been years since I did it.
My thought is to sort them roughly by name into boxes, with things like the whole Tenchi and Ranma series in their own boxes where possible.
I bought 8 boxes to start with, 4 were promptly appropriated by my brother when he saw them, and I think I'm going to need another 10-20 minimum!

well to kick start my anime blu-ray buying for this year I've gone and order Gurren Lagann - Ultimate Edition (Blu-Ray) off amazon uk.

I'm tempted by that, but looking at the cost, and the fact I've got the original UK release (with light up drill pendant!;)) I can't really justify it, especially as it's not one of my favourite shows (something like BGC I'm willing to triple dip on, same with Gunbuster, but Gurren Lagann not so much).

well I had the choice of the standard edition Blu-ray or the ultimate edition but I when with the ultimate edition because it had movie 1 & 2, Parallel Works + few other bonus where standard is just the tv series. so I've got until june to bank the fund for it. on another note I just on an impulse and bought Jormungand season 1 blu-ray and pre-order season 2 blu-rays.

but back to the topic at hand from what I read on the web ultimate edition will be a one off limited run so once it gone it might not be back again. so keep that in mind as it has both movies which were not released in the uk + few other goodies.
here link to site that better explains what in both versions.

p.s at present it cheaper off amazon uk than most other place as full rrp is £111

Ah, I didn't realise it had the movies, that makes it a better price wise :)

I guess the silly thing is, that I didn't used to think twice about paying ~100 for the separate volumes that would make up a release like Gurren Laggan :)
I've got slightly spoiled for anime being a little cheaper :)

just correcting some bad info I've given's the srp for the ultimate edition isn't £111 but in fact is £149. It is selling for £111 at various online outlet's.

Well that's not very good, JAL are stopping JL401 and JL402 which were used by the K-ON! girls to go to and from London in the movie. Flights are being replaced with different referenced ones going to Haneda rather than Narita from the end of March.

I sort of folded on Gurren Laggan in the end, I've pre-ordered it from Amazon and figure I can cancel it if needed.

I spent about an hour yesterday making a start on sorting the disc sprawl that is all over my extended desk, I'm going to have to go to Ikea and pick up another 8 packs of Kassette boxes by my reckoning...

just finish watching Arpeggio of Blue Steel I though it was very good do hope they do another season of it, well next up to watch is "Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo".

Ah yes, The Girl Who Leapt Through Space ... very much a favourite of mine ...

Recent watches ...
Coppelion - interesting concept with an art style which was ... well a bit different ... but over left you feeling that it could have been better. It could have done with being longer and them doing something about the root cause of the series really.

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga ____ai (season 1) - (auto bad word filter strikes again) generally quite an amusing series whose character design made it obvious it was a KyoAni production. Quite funny for the most part with the usual sort of KyoAni twist near the end.

Could do with some help here, I can't decide between these four but am leaning towards Nagato.

Which of them do you guys like the most?

Already ordered Kaga and Shimakaze though.

I would say get the Nagato one as it look better but my second choice would be the Akatsuki Class

Aye, you like the same ones as I do then, the Akatsuki Class is my second choice as well.

Really tempted to order them both but I already got two on order as well as the Strike Witch figure in the same month. :( Wish they did Yamato.. would order her in a flash. They did her T-Shirt though. :/

Saw Ghost in the Shell: Arise eps 1 & 2 (Ghost Pain & Ghost Whispers) recently thought they were damn good I especially like the fact they've gone for the founding of Section 9 as the setting for this series.
