The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

It's odd, but enjoyably funny odd.
It suits my (slightly odd) sense of humour, especially when I'm as tired/fed up as I've been the last few days :) (got a cough/cold that's been hanging around for a month, and I'm struggling to sort out my younger brothers PC - I think I'm up to about 18 hours over the last 3 days so far, and probably the same again over the last week).

Finished Deathnote, meh. Clever but treated the viewers like children, too much thinking out loud...there is constant talking from characters or hearing their thoughts, it actually gets very tiring.

Watching Attack on Titan now...similar thing.

And the lead character is annoying, why can't he take orders? 5 years in the cadet and constantly questioning and disobeying orders...

I just couldn't get into space dandy, I wanted to like it as it seemed to have a similar vibe to redline (2009) that I thought was quality because it was so over the top.

Attack on Titan... it was ok, I managed to watch all of it but it's not one of those series where I remember it if you get me.

(got a cough/cold that's been hanging around for a month, and I'm struggling to sort out my younger brothers PC - I think I'm up to about 18 hours over the last 3 days so far, and probably the same again over the last week).

I know the feeling, got the cough, plus throw in stomach bug, and I've been trying to fix a pc which doesn't want to do what I want it to.... I'm resorting to a reinstall, it's easier lol

I want to understand how these idiots in Attack on Titan don't notice a lot of these so call Titan until they are on top of them. These things are size of cathedrals walking with sounds of earth quakes and some how they always seem to "sneak" up on them all the time. Characters are chatting away and all of the sudden one comes up from behind?

They simply talk too much...what is with all the yapping before making the critical strike? Just do it already!

They deserved to get squashed tbh.

Anyone had trouble with `country code`on their imported BDs?
Not Region Code as I have a multiregion panasonic BD player but the other day on a `Hidamari Sketch SP BD disc Thip popped up on insertion and will not play on the panny :(

Not seen it on any of mine, although I don't have that particular disk.

A thought, have you tried turning off internet access on the BD player temporarily prior to trying to play it?

IIRC it's something that some discs are doing now, you need to go into the players menu and change it to the right country/region for the disc (IE if your menu has options for the UK and France, and it's a French disc with the issue set it to France).

It's checking the players own country setting as well as the region code.

I think it's been done to stop Zone A discs from outside of Japan from playing in Japan (because they share a region, it's also checking the country in the player setup).

Sentai have started implementing more severe geo locking on their discs now (they only used to block just Japan, but now they're blocking everyone except for the US and Canada), so if the player isn't set to the US then it won't play (this does mean that those who don't have multi region capable BD players can play those discs by only changing the country code to the US as they aren't relying no region locking any more).

you'd think anime companies outside of Japan would want as many people to buy their dvd/blu ray's as possible.... putting region blocks on isn't going to make people want to buy stuff.

All it will do is push people to streaming and 'other sources' which completely defeats the point.

There are a few programs out there that supposedly 'bypass' the region lock that some dvd drives need on pc's and it might also be worth looking for a region free firmware for the drive.

Pc playback is not a problem ;)
I don`t import many discs anymore mainly because of issues like this and being hit with customs charges
I really hate having to pay things like customs charges and vat :(

Feeling both Hyped and nostalgic after hearing about the new digimon, time to let my inner child out for a spin this march XD
sort of the same here... I have fond memories of digimon although a recent rewatch wasn't quite so enjoying and the last series digimon xross (or whatever it was) had the most annoying main character ever.

tell me about it, the first 3 seasons are still the best tbh. However I do agree that the rewatch value has depreciated with my age :(

still I hope they target the new series at us older fans, as it wouldn't be so good otherwise,

To be honest, in my opinion Anime hasn't been 'that' good for the last couple of seasons.
I've enjoyed Gundam Build Fighters which is free on youtube (season 1 and season 2 is currently running) and I don't mind Gundam G no Reconguista either.
There's been the Unlimited blade works of Fate stay night which isn't bad but I prefer the original.

Parasyte is currently airing and isn't too bad as a whole.

You've also got sword art online or log horizon... both same idea but completely different feel at the same time. I have to say I prefer log horizon more but both are good.

I think it really depends on what sort of thing you enjoy watching because you may enjoy psycho pass or persona 4.

I've been enjoying Shirobako which is ongoing this season from last but going on the limited information given I doubt that Kaiju would like it (it's not an action series, instead it's a series on making anime)

Watching the film called The Giver and I am immediately wondering if its based on the same source as the anime called From the new world. Anyone else feel its a similar story?

Best anime news of the year so far (and probably for the whole year!), the A anime set on mars with the silly cat looks to be coming back :D

I've been sat here for the last 15 minutes or so with a silly grin on my face since reading that, it's cheered me up massively :) (I've been feeling like something the cat dragged in due to a chest infection).

I may pop the discs in the player in celebration.

Yay! (said with much feeling :))
