The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Think I'm going to give One Piece a go. Over 800+ episodes, so should keep me busy for a while if I like it! :D

"one piece" is current at 766 episode, where "Detective Conan" is current at 840

Sorry whats the difference? :)

I watched the first 3 episodes of OP last night and enjoyed it. It's odd that Luffys voice actor is the same as kid trunks from DBZ.

I was hooked for a while, its really quite good up to 350. On a break around 560 as I wasn't enjoying the current arc much, i'd suggest looking up the guide so you can skip the filler episodes.

And the whole bloody Dressrosa arc, FML!!

well I re-watch it few months ago and got up to episode 661, so taking little break then resume it, same with detective conan got up to 540 then break. :)

Well with that many episodes I'll be surprised if I don't want a break. Point is it's something thats got so much content I can come and go and always have something new to watch from it :)

Looking forward to seeing Your Name eventually. Unfortunately whilst there are some showings in Nottingham I can't get to any of them :(

I almost went to see it in Hong Kong (where i am now) but decided against it because i didn't know if it has only Chinese Subtitles and my reading level is now of a 5 year old in Chinese.

Think I'll just buy it when it comes out.

I'm waiting until all episodes of season 2 have aired then I'm going to watch all 50 episode in one go :). but if it anything like the first season, then yes it very good.

Saw Your Name on Wednesday and thought it was fantastic but have just been on twitter and seen the UK distributor saying that because of problems in japan they don't think they will be able to release a blu ray until the end of 2017.

Seems like total madness to me. I'd recommend everyone go and see it whilst you have the chance. If anyone is able to get to London it's on 8 times a day at the odeon off Leicester Square this week. It must be proving quite popular since they have upped the number of showings.

Re our streaming discussion: Netflix has announced an offline feature, and with time more will follow. I would very much like an industry where goodies are recyclable and 3d-printable on demand, and much of the media collection one accumulates is digital, transferable, shareable and hooked into VR/AR features of our future smart homes and devices. Let's be honest, in this biz it's hard not to become a hoarder, accumulating clutter of questionable environmental and storage footprint. From things to concepts -- that is the nature of play. :)

I'm currently watching Samurai Flamenco and finding myself laughing quite a lot in places (it's taken a few unexpected turns as well), and it's the slightly rare thing in anime for me at the moment, one I've been able to sit down and watch 2 or 3 episodes at a time without getting distracted,

I'd like to see Your Name at the cinema, but the only showing near me is once a day and at a bad time due to family/health.

Cheers, I didn't know about that and snagged the Tokyo Esp set last night after seeing your post.

Today they've got the new Space Dandy complete set pre-order for £20 (I picked up the previous releases for about £20 each a while back)..

well I miss the first 2 days of it and offer they had for day 3 was 4 Blu-ray movies one of which I had so I didn't get it but I did snap up the Tokyo esp deal myself too.

Samurai Flamenco part one is today's alltheanime offer at a tenner, half the price I paid for my copy in an amazon deal about a month ago.
It had me laughing and thinking it was so silly it was a lot of fun, although it does have some darker/more serious bits.

today deal on all the anime is "12 Days of Xmas 2016 Offer #8 - Sword Art Online II Parts 1-4 Blu-ray+DVD Ltd Collector's Edition sets complete series bundle" for 64.99 or Sword Art Online II Parts 1-4 standard DVD complete series bundle for 39.99. blu ray one I think is good deal as each part is about £30-£40.
