The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Do I need to turn on incognito mode and activate VPN before searching. :D

Erm....it's more ecchi but i wouldn't say it's hentai. It's not on the level of Goblin Slayer or Redo of a Healer. Those are kicking on the doors of hentai.

Highschool DXD i would say is bang in the ecchi territory, the ******* sword show is quite tame in comparison.

Redo the healer - from what i understand is ****** up to ****. Goblin slayer isnt hentai or echhi, it's just that the first episode is fairly controversial for the opening half and whats implied but at the same time its kinda setting the seen for the brutality of goblins. The rest of the anime maybe other than a few sword maiden scenes cant be considered ecchi at all.

Currently watching Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans and as a standalone its actually very good

It is good there so many good series that stand alone and you dont need to know. Have you seen the other standalone Gundam Classics like Gundam 00, Gundam Seed, Gundam Seed Destiny to name a few?

Has anyone watched Suzume yet in the Cinema? Hope its good, got some good review.

Nah Iron blooded Orphens is my intro into Gundam

If you want to dive into the Gundam Universal century(UC), a decent introduction would be to watch the 3 Mobile suit Gundam OVA that are available on netflix still since it covers most of the original TV show in a condensed 3 part movies and then Char's Counterattack but highly recommend watching Zeta Gundam first.
If that gets you hooked and interested in the UC timeline then I would jump on Zeta Gundam which is a sequel to the 1st show, my favourite Gundam series to date still, there is also Gundam Origins as well which covers a lot of backstory for Char Aznable.

Another good standalone Gundam series in my opinion that is separate from UC is Mobile Fighter G Gundam, Gundam Build Fighters and Build fighters try which covers a lot of easter eggs throughout the franchise, there is Gundam Wing as well.

Gate - Thus the JSDF Fought There! - 2016

I was intrigued by the premise more than anything - "what if a portal opened between an 80's Japan and a place like Mordor from LOTR, forcing the Japanese Military to face off against troops with medieval weapons but also magic, orcs & dragons etc?" - and I thought it did a fantastic job of getting across multiple story arcs, some of which were quite adult in nature (slavery, rape/pillage of medieval era vs modern human rights, politics etc) with some amazing animation, especially in the combat scenes. As always with anime, the "don't worry, the 10 year old looking girl is actually a 900 year old demi-god so it's OK showing her being a sexual predator who wants the male hero" stuff gets very old very quickly but the characters are generally very well written otherwise.

I love Gate, really wish they would do a new season for it
