The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Was there a writers strike in Japan around the time they wrote the second season of Vinland saga?

I mean its just terrible.

I know MAPPA has problems for a while after a disagreement with one of their founders to the board, so he ended up taking half of their creative talent away which affected a few projects.

Demon Slayer ep 9 and 10.

It's picking up....and only a few left. This season has been much flatter, it certainly has not hit that high that the last one did. I would be impress if they could still turn it around this late in the arc now.
Probably won't imo, read the manga and didn't like how it ended. Still haven't watched current season.

It's funny you say that I was thinking about how different it was last night. But in a way I've enjoyed it. The first season was this hyper combat thing going on and this season has been the absolute opposite. I didn't quite finish the 22nd episode last night but I've enjoyed Thorfinn's journey this season. That said more mad as ferrets combat would also have been good.

JUJUTSU KAISEN 0 seems interesting!

Yes it's excellent. Pre-quel movie that strings the backstory and some of the characters to present day. I watched it at the cinema and it was brilliant on the big screen. Defo recommend watching it subbed rather than dubbed.

Vinland Saga - don't get me wrong there were good moments but overall really disappointing especially the finale. I get they were trying another angle but it didn't really work for me. It was more a filler than Saga is the best way I can put it.

Is HunterXHunter any good ?
I've seen it a few times over the years with people saying its one of the best but I never understood if the story was any good from the trailers and information I found.
I think they also made a reboot a few years ago, I was wondering if its worth watching.

Yes it's very good, it ends at a really good place as well considering it's unlikely to ever get finished, I couldn't imagine a better ending for it.

Recommended if you like shonen and especially ones that can take your expectations and twist them.

Just watch the new one no need for old one.

See there a live one piece movie coming out. Never watched it before so have no idea about the anime but this looks cheesy.

Amazing anime, watch 2011. Most of the characters get good treatment i.e. not focussing on 1 or 2 all the time.

Also doesn't have mindless powerups like other animes.

Absolutely one of the best, i knew the creator/writer was under extreme pressure because of the popularity and success to continue so he took a sabbatical. No idea if he will ever finish it unfortunately.

Finally got around to watching 2018-2020 Baki. It is absolute dynamite! Dumb, ugly, and incredibly satisfying.

:D

Nice. I been waiting for years for a new seasons. If you like Baki you should like Kengan Ashura if you haven't already seen it.

Also one of my favourites is Record of Ragnarok as well. It's more fantasy but it's pretty violent too. Mortal Kombat between Gods and Mortals.

I'm watching Neon Genesis Evangelion (tv series) on Netflix. I'm really enjoying it so far, I'm up to epsidoe 13. I enjoyed the first 2 Evangleion films which were like a remade and abridged version of the cartoon so far. But films 3 and 4 lost me entirely I was super dissapointed so I'm hoping the tv series story which I understand to be different has a more satisfying conclusion.

Oh boy :D

The rebuild of eva films are very very loosely based on the TV series and the original film, but veer off and take a lot of stuff from IIRC various games* etc that came out after the initial TV series and film as well as some completely new materials.

I quite liked all 4 of the rebuild films, but it did take me rewatching then all in quick succession to appareciate them, as IIRC the skip between 2 and 3 is huge and it was something like 5-7 years between film 2 coming out and film 3.

*I think they took bits from some PC games, some pachinko tie in stuff (Gainex loved their pachinko machines**), various different tie in/spin off manga etc.

**To the point where for years you'd hear "Gainex are doing a new project with title X", get all excited and find out it was yet another pachinko machine..
