The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I am having a hard time getting invested in modern Gundam shows to be honest, the last Gundam series I did watch weekly was Build Fighters Try.
I did try and watch Witch from mercury and liked what I saw but then its now trying to find time to watch it.
Something about the UC era just gets me more excited than the modern series, I'm more excited for Hathaway 2 movie than the Seed movie but there hasn't been any announcement for the 2nd Hathaway movie in a while now.
I am waiting for that Doan island movie to get released digitally so I can watch that.

I'll be honest was a bit of a slog getting through the older series, but Chars Counterattack had a notable quality improvement, and I just started Unicorn, which so far seems the best Gundam UC series so far, with an epic Sawano OST to go with it.

I mainly stuck with the older ones as I didn't want to outright skip them before watching the new ones, but they were often fairly janky to watch (product of the time I guess). Chars Counterattack held up really well though.

Watched 2 eps of JJK season 2.

I can't help but compare this to Chainsaw Man and most notably, I keep thinking how much better looking Chainsaw Man is. It is almost the same art style but Chainsaw Man just executed it better.

Yeah I can see why, the hallway was reminiscent of the hotel floor in CSM, apparently there is a reason for it though that makes sense, in any case as they're both made by MAPPA I think some similarities would be likely.

First 3 episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen were solid and a cliff hanger at that

I just did Episode 3 and that was really good. I'm happy to know the main story will continue in the next few episodes as well.

OK so I just finished End of Evangelion. The episode 25 part was much better but episode 26 was still as clear as mud. If I've understood the plot correctly, which does feel in doubt, then it wasn't especially satisfying but unquestionably better than the original series and the films. Series as a whole was excellent though really loved it.

Just need to work out how to watch Attack on Titan because the Managa has a really satisfying ending for such a long running comic.

The main series apparently hit production issues near the end, hence the original last 2 episodes wound up being garbage nonsense. The EoE film attempted to solve some of that.

I liked the show but it did have some issues, especially when it came to really explaining everything. People have kind of been working stuff out by piecing together bits of the anime, and the games over the years.

I liked AoT a lot and if you're new to the show you're in for a treat as it's almost finally done (final final final season!).

This will either fade into obscurity like the Cowboy bebop adaptation if it's done poorly.
The Knights of zodiac movie didn't even last a week in screening in America and Japan, there has already been an announcement of it going straight to blu-ray or digital in July.
We are massive One Piece fans, and think it looks better than any live-action adaptation of a manga/anime before.

If you are not a fan of the series and lore, most of it will go over your head, but I haven't been this amped for a show in a long time, they are capturing the wacky essence of One Piece perfectly imo.

Plus it helps that the cast are all huge One Piece fans, so they will want to do it proud like Cavill did with The Witcher.

I didn't know Sawano was around during 90s? Are you sure you are not getting it mixed up with Unicorn? :)
Char's Counterattack is just about the start of the 90s era of animation since it was released bang near the end of the 80s, probably had a bigger budget too since it was a movie.

I hope it is successful as it will show to other "western" studios/directors how to make a good live adaptation, or even show the japanese how it is done.
For me so far the best live adaptation that I have seen are:
- City Hunter starring Jackie chan, the korean drama is apparently decent.
- Nana the 1st movie
- Rurouni Kenshin
-Burn the house down
-Ghost in the shell with Scarlet Jo, the only thing that killed it was trying to rectify that she was originally "japanese"
- Alita Battle Angel

Also the dumpster truck of Robotech continues:

Yes you're right I meant Unicorn but said Victory! Unicorn had a good start very promising so far just done 1st ep yesterday.
I watched the 7 episode OVA/movies before they released it as a 22 episode, unless you meant you are watching the 7 episode OVA/movie?
I was curious if they added any extra content in the 22 episode or it's just them breaking the 7 OVA into 22 episodes.

Been watching latest season of Bleach and Jujutsu Kaisen, both are off to a good start I'd say

I must say, the character build-up in this season is interesting, with the idea that Gojo is way too full of himself and arrogant in his abilities, then you have his colleague telling him he needs to humble himself, and then roll on episode 3 where this well-prepared assassin completely tears him apart. Not sure if it's all a trick or Gojo will come out of it unharmed or will be healed by another colleague, but man, by the end of episode 3, I thought to myself "this assassin is pretty damn good at his job, he even dealt with that vessel girl". The gore / blood / imagery during the scene where Gojo was being annihilated was quite strong, made me think this anime isn't one for the faint of heart! nevertheless, glad there's writers, authors and studios that aren't afraid to portray these kinds of scenes. Speaking of studios, the animation quality so far has been incredible, very impressed

I'm watching the 7 episode OVA so episode 1 was 60 mins or so, and the rest are similar with episode 7 being 90 mins instead.

Friend of mine said the 7 episode OVA was the way to go, might be some extra scenes in the 22 episode tv series but I'm fine with this as long as it remains coherent enough to follow. I think it should do.

Checked out first couple of episodes of My Happy Marriage and liking it so far, it's like Victorian Era Japan mixed with a Cinderella story about a girl who is treated as little more than a servant due to the cruel stepmother.

Nicely animated and an interesting story so far.
