The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I know people rate slam dunk and hajime no ippo quite fondly.
The only other sport anime I've seen is eye shield 21 which has the American football shounen flare.
Orange wild heart striker which is quite decent football anime too.
Captain tsubasa which is rated quite high aswell for football anime with a bit of over the top flare too.

I don't often watch sports anime but there are some good ones. I need to watch the new season of Blue Lock.

Ping Pong is really good, 10ish episodes but it's quite unique and is a complete story.

Haikyuu is a good volleyball anime which is several seasons along by now.

Hanebado is a badminton anime that I found interesting as well

Lastly we have KyoAni and their archery one, Tsurune.

For sports anime I always have a soft spot for Princess Nine, it's an older one but I remember really enjoying it going back (it's about 20-25 years old!), it's about a girls baseball team and whilst it has all the tropes it was pretty good :) (I bought it on a recommendation when it was cheap).

here small list of sport anime

overtake!
MF Ghost
yowamushi pedal
slam dunk
hikaru nu go
major
kuroko basketball
capeta
Girls und Panzer
baby steps
basquash!
yawara!
saki
Air master
ace of diamonds
hoop days
I've only seen overtake! and MF Ghost in that list, there is quite a few then.
I did enjoy eyeshield 21, orange wild heart striker and Captain Tsubasa as well.
What are people thought on Bluelock S2 so far? The animation is kinda disappointing but the story telling and character interaction is keeping me somewhat interested still.
They shouldn't have bothered with Episode Nagi episode.

Watched the released 6 episodes of Dandadan last night, theyve done a superb job of translating it to anime from the manga.

Dandadan is probably the best thing going this season. The banter between the main characters is exceptional.

I'd give a rec to anyone who wants to try something a bit different, which is Orb:

This show covers a sort of alt history where the church are trying to silence people for researching whether the earth is the centre of the universe or not, very interesting especially if you like historical drama.

Thanks for the in-depth reply, much appreciated.

I love Star Trek, so sci-fi sounds like a good option, Invincibles, Wednesday, Only Murders In The Building, Doctor Who, The Boys, Stranger Things, Scavengers Reign, etc.

full metal panic or code geass and gundam seed im a star trek lover as well :)

For those that are watching Bluelock.
Nagi goal kinda reminds me of these supershots from Captain Tsubasa Rise of new champion.
The 2:32 and 3:50
I think it would be hype seeing Blue lock team challenge Captain Tsubasa in some crazy collab movie or something.

Found a youtuber who has compiled all the non-filler stuff for the original Dragon Ball into 1.5h films for each arc, really useful to get through it a bit quicker as I want to catch up on everything before moving onto Daima

Surely thats too short? Couldn't of had that much fillers? Saying that I think I stopped watching when the world tournament started. Was surprisingly good.
