The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I had Yuki-chan vol 1 in my order too (which I had ordered at the beginning of July ...) along with Haruhi vol 13, Bamboo Blade vol 14 and Bunny Drop vol 6 :)

I see that another MangaUK statement on the Panty and Stocking release issues, for anyone who's bought it and hasn't seen ...

I made a start of Rosario & Vampire last night, having bought it pretty much blind.
So far I'm enjoying it, it's sort of silly but fun :) (up to episode 6).

enjoyed the mangas of this I've managed to get hold of would like to see how the anime goes, is it the same plot/story or does it diverge?

It diverges at the end of season 1. Season 1 is basically the very beginning of the Manga but with more fan service and slightly re jigged events to get the main characters in.

The manga is a lot stronger once it gets going.

i know that problems can happen in the manufacturing process'but do these people not test some of the discs on the production line before mass producing and sending out to the retailer's?
i see a lot of these warnings being posted here

I don't think anyone could even have fully watched the pre production test files (or disc images etc).
As it wasn't a manufacturing issue, but the files supplied were apparently missing the bits, and no one caught it before the discs were produced (which to me indicates no one actually watched the mastered files fully before they were sent to the disc replication plant to be made into the physical masters).

Cheers for the info Alex, I'm completely new to R&V so don't even have a clue about the manga.

Double post there ;)

Ah, the niceties of a wet bank holiday weekend ... managed to watch today ...

Bunny (Usagi) Drop ... on NISA's DVD/BD Premium release. I watched the BD release. The series is very good and is a, at a high level, a slice of life series about a 30 year old salaryman who suddenly has to start looking after a five year old girl (for family reasons). Don't expect lots of drama or action, just a sweet little series which is relaxing to watch and a slightly different animation style. The animation doesn't cover all of the manga, but that is quite good as the later mangas have a time jump and just don't have the feel of the earlier ones.

K-On!! (season 2) - second half (episodes 14-27). Sentai's second set of this season covering the second half of the series plus the extra episodes .... on BD of course :). I like K-On and find it funny and musically good but the second half of the this series can get a bit sad at times due to the impending graduation of the main cast. It is still very good though with some of my favourite episodes appearing on these disks. I did watch things a bit out of order though as I did just re-watch the K-On movie prior to watching this season :)

With those location things from earlier, I'm definitely considering, assuming the weather is ok, going to Enoshima (home of Tari Tari) and will probably spend some time there before catching the green trains along the coast to Kamakura, spend a bit of time there, and then return to Tokyo.

No Space Brothers this week, but i didn't realize that it is supposed to be 50+ episodes which is kind of surprising given today's financial climate. They must feel confident in it being successful. It's certainly kept my interest.

It's a bit lighter than stuff like Planetes but still i think the attention to detail has been great. I bet there has been a surge in traffic to the Nasa/Jaxa websites and various Wikipedia articles to do with space.

Wouldn't surprise me if the next end of episode/picture omake is a tribute to Neil Armstrong either.

I like Space Brothers, it's a good interesting series which hasn't had to resort to the usual anime cliches. I am surprised it will be running for that long though, i could have seen it being 2 cours and then a second series, but a first run of 4 cours is surprising ...

Just going to add a note, although it's not really anime related, as people liked the AKB0048 anime the real Acchan has her graduation concert today (unlike the anime where she supposedly disappeared in to the light) at ~10am UK time (6pm JST) and it is supposed to be being streamed live via the groups official YouTube and Google+ channels.

edit:

I watched the concert live via YouTube yesterday morning. Very professionally done recording (I've seen worse on official concert DVDs) and the concert was 3 hours long. The concert was very good but did get quite emotional near the end when the girls were saying goodbye to Acchan.

Note it's being reported that Bandai US will stop accepting orders from retailers in mid-November with their last shipments out to retailers fulfilling them at the end of that month.

So if there are any of their releases which you want to get which you haven't done so yet then you might want to look at getting them sooner rather than later, (assuming they aren't already out of print/stock already).

this mean that bandai are going under?

They announced at the beginning of January they were going to withdrawing from the US market with no new releases after February ... they also said they would continue to sell catalogue titles. It looks like after November even existing catalogue titles will no longer be available (apart from possibly copies which are already in stock with retailers).

...

btw I recommend people watch the pop video for the latest AKB48 single Gingham Check ... for the pure ridiculousness of it. Watch it with the sound off if you want but it's a wonderful mash-up of different Japanese TV/Film genres ... Cop shows, horror, gangs and Godzilla ... :)

I'd somehow forgotten Bandai were pulling out of the DVD market :(
I'll have to have a look and see what there is I need/want.

I've been watching Bacanano which is slightly confusing at first (flipping between different times a little like Boogiepop Phantom where the stories were intertwined), but good :)

The only things I need to get are the last two volumes of the first season of K-On! on blu-ray and the lucky star series + OVA with anything else getting done as I think about it (however I'm already running short of storage space in my room, so I'll have to start getting all the new stuff I need for storage and whatever else).
