The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

I could just about justify Nadesico because although I've already got it twice (the Aus release, then I got the UK set for under a tenner), they're both the original versions with the dodgy overlays, and I haven't got the Geki Genger OVA's:p

ROD is a great price for the series, but I've already got the R1's.

On a side note, Princess Jellyfish has a really odd retention mechanism for the second and third disk - it took me a minute to work it out.
Basically rather than the hub holding the disc (as in about 95% of cases), to get disc 2 out (and thus 3), you need to slide disc 2 down a touch (it's got a pair of plastic "springs" pushing it into it's third clip), then lift the top of the disc as it moves away from the top clip.

yay my Nadesico complete collection arrived from UP1 aa few minutes ago:D

Mine turned up yesterday (along with the first persona 4 collection on DVD)

Can't justify re-buying Nadesico at the moment

I could justify buying it again, and here's some of my reasons why it's worth the money after a quick run through.

Re-mastered video on the TV series (but where some scenes were re-animated the dub doesn't sync up, although they give prior warning about this).
Smaller box/slightly lower disc count for the TV series (the last ADV set consisted of 6 discs where this set only has a five disc count for the TV series and two discs thin cases have been used to cut down on the size of the box their placed in).
No horrid black bars on the price of darkness movie (that was the only annoying thing about the ADV release and it means that there's no need to use the 16:9 zoom function on my TV)
Gekigangar 3 OVA (that might not be that important, but this set is likely to be the only way to get that subbed).
Extras that weren't on the ADV releases (not many people may go for the extras, but after having very little in the way of extras on the ADV releases and with what's in this set having not been made available, it's more then worth part of the price of the set).

I rest my case (if I was making a case to begin with).

I'm not arguing with either of you whether it would be a good set to get and an improvement on the previous releases ... I would like to get it too but I just can't justify it at the moment when I will be doing some serious shopping for things I don't already have in ~4 weeks ;)

Picked these up from the Post Office today, the robbing fraggers stole £23 for Customs and handing.

I have a previous version of the figure on the left (Chitose from Amaenaide yo!! aka Ah My Buddha on the US release) ... slight differences around the colour of the "rope" and level of cast off (I don't think that the lower half casts off on mine) ... my one is the version here. Good fun series.

It's the same one, she comes with two different coloured ropes and three tops, fully covered, peeking like the one am using now and the final one allows her breasts out.

I'm missing my skirt, but it was preowned at rated B for figure.

But cool, I loved Amaenaide was such a fun anime.

Re-watched Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu this weekend, (both seasons and first of the finale OVAs). Overall I thought that the first series was quite good with a generally straight forward plot with reasonable characters. After the first season though it seemed to mostly dump the main theme of the first series and instead turn into a generic romantic comedy with the usual misunderstandings etc ... which was a shame really.

Actually after reading wiki it sounds like totally up my street! I'll check it out

Latest SAO 10 was pretty awesome, been waiting for that to happen since the beginning, but episode 9 is still the best through. :D

So picked these up today, customs ripped me off again for it.

Nice price for that series (I already have the US release :))

Watched the latest Tari Tari earlier ... interesting episode, normally from what we knew before the episode you'd expect the series to progress in a certain normal way in reaction to the plot elements as presented ... but instead the series as zoomed forward negating that possibility so it will be interesting to see what they do now ...

Finished re-watching Bodacious Space Pirates this evening ... really good comedy sci-fi series which looks good, has interesting characters and an engaging plot. The series does have an ending but is left open enough for more in the future.

*shudder* December is looking a heavy month on the release front ... Funimation have solicited many, many, things not counting releases from Sentai etc ...

I have a feeling that some of those 'things' from funimation are series that have had their release dates pushed back (Shana season 2 has had it's release data pushed back twice now).

I've got a few items coming during December (it was about three items, but I just added two extra items to the list) including an addition to my figure collection, but it isn't the most expensive figure I have on pre-order *cough*Ultimate Madoka*cough*.

On another subject, I'm probably going to have to find out what scenes in Martian Successor Nadesico have been re-animated since I'm already eight episodes in and I've only found one noticeable scene that has been re-done.

I'm glad i'm not the only one (up to episode 6) :)

I'm enjoying it a lot, I think partly because it's probably been 3-4 years since I last watched it.

Yep I already had Index, Shana season 2 and It This a Zombie? slipped out to December (yep Index has slipped too from the end of October) ... it's the addition though of Steins;Gate Part 2, Baka to Test season 2, Heavens Lost Property Forte on BD, other bits of Shana (Movie and S) and some more Tenchi (Movie and OVA on BD) on top of some other releases from Sentai (including the first part of Penguindrum on BD).

I think Shana season 2 has slipped a third time now (it's gone from 11th to the 18th of December now too!)

Looking at my current pre-orders I think I've got one in October, none(!) in November and five in December ... and that's before the consideration of the additions above. But I would expect some of Funimations current December pile to slip into the new year given the number they have for that month compared with the couple of months before.

In fact I think I have more manga pre-orders at the moment than anime.
