The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

That's a lotta lotta music :)

In case anyone is interested Play have the Deathnote set for £15 which is the cheapest I've seen it for a while.

Can anyone recommend me a good anime please?

I have seen and enjoyed:

Death Note
Afro Samurai
Avatar: The Last Airbender

I realise some are not strictly anime but I enjoyed them
Thanks

The Legend of Korra! It's set 70 years after Avatar and IMO it's actually better, There's only been season 1 so far but it should get another season soon.

Recently i have been watching After School Midnighters, strange movie, surreal in places
It is about a medical mannequin who comes to life to exact revenge on 3 elementary kids who `abused` him
Not sure quite what age group it is aimed at
In the extras the mannequin is shown to be `playing` around with fireworks a la Jackass style :D
Gothic school background

edit:Just found that playasia have Kikis Delivery Service on bluray multi language and subs for just over £50
will be looking for this after crimbo on amazon or similar i think'been waiting for what seems ages for this one :D

I've been making my way through Code Geass; not bad at all actually, its better than I was expecting, that said I'm not quite as keen on the second series as the first; it feels like some of the characters have changed a bit etc.

Also my CD arrived, my brother got me Nana Mizuki's The Museum II...which seemed like it'd been shrunk wrapped into its cardboard box. Nice set though :)

Anywhoooooo, main reason I popped in is I have some potential Chrimbo pressies for people, I'm off Mon-Weds so I should be able to get to a postbox these days.

I have a lot of spare discs (official) in standard disc wallets I have simply sitting around, so great as spares, samplers, test copies, replacements for scratched discs etc. A nominal contribution/donation to packaging/postage appreciated, but basically...anyone want any? I'll be posting in the disc wallets inside padded envelopes for safe transport :)

Here's what I have:
Witchblade vol 3
Solty Rei vol 4
Shakugan no Shana (believe to be vol 4+6)
GunXSword Vol 2
Starship Operators vol 3 x2
FLCL Vol 3
Aquarion Vol 3
Romeo X Juliet vol 2
The Slayers Vol 2 x2
Desert Punk vol 1,2+4 (2 copies of vol 4)
Ergo Proxy Vol 2
Samurai 7 Vol 3
Blade of the Immortal vol 1+2

Discs are all basically new, so should be in good condition, not noticed any major scratches whilst looking at them.

Anyone interested :)

BIG LONG LIST

Would also recommend Bakemonogatari, Beck, Spice and Wolf and Elfen Lied on top of those.

All 4 of these are quite different from one another :)
Really depends on what Chadd is looking for I guess.

I'm also very fond of Kanon, and Clannad/Angel Beats are worth a look too but these are dramas.

Most if the anime on that list I'd recommend, as I would Elfen Lied (I think that's getting re-released here in the new year?), and Spice and Wolf.

Gantz is currently on sale at Anime-on-line.co.uk for a tenner, so I ordered a copy as I've not seen it (I kept meaning to when it came out, then forgot about it:p).
I must admit I'm taking full advantage of AOL's bargains of the week to fill in some holes in my collection :)

[edit]
Is anyone else finding it hard to find the time to watche anything?
I think I've watched all of 6 episodes of Ergo Proxy in the past week, I'm enjoying it, but don't seem to have the time free to watch it:( (I'm watching it in about 10-15 minute chunks:p).

Yes definitely ... normally I can go through up to around 60-70 episodes a week easily but I've struggled to have the time to get through a single two cour series this week and I've basically had to give up on keeping up with currently airing stuff from the Autumn season for now.

I know that I'm catching up on some non-animated JDrama stuff at the moment but that doesn't explain just how little I'm getting through currently (have been for the last couple of months) ... :(

Trouble is without any real information on what sorts of genres Chadd is interested in long lists of series which just contain what the poster likes, or considers good, will probably have many entries which are of no interested to him ... after all anime does cover a multitude of different things.

Given what he listed I would not really expect Ai Yori Aoshi, Chobits, Girls Bravo or even Last Exile to fit the bill unless he want's to try something completely different (which he hasn't indicated).

I would agree with Elfen Lied, Ghost in the Shell, Samurai Champloo, Samurai 7 and Black Lagoon. I'd also suggest Bleach (although personally it's not my cup of tea)

i just posted general list of shows that have had good reviews, and what i've seen personally that cover wide spectium of genre as chadd didn't say what he was into so some of the stuff on the list he will like, some he won't, some he never though of and if he watch them he might like it or not. i know people who at first didn't like last exile, girl bravo etc type show but once they watch the first few episode they were hooked.

It is, but the company distributing it doesn't seem to have a grip on proper pricing since the RRP they've set for Elfen lied is £59.99

Ouch, that'd be the sort of price I might expect a nice quality BD release to hit at, not DVD; especially not for a 12 ep series.
Don't get me wrong, I do think sometimes anime is TOO cheap here, but perhaps 29.99-39.99 I'd say would have been more realistic (which would also be around equal to the $60 the average 12 ep show goes for in the US last I looked).

Makes me feel lucky I got my copy for £15 clearance :D

Just read on ANN that Manga will be releasing Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood in full on Bluray, and will also be releasing the remaining sets for those who bought the first two :D
This makes me a happy bunny given I was one of those who bought sets 1 & 2 on blu-ray.

They'll also be releasing Eureka Seven AO and Black Rock Shooter :)

Woohoo! I was so annoyed when I bought the first two volumes only to find out we weren't going to get the rest :p was really contemplating buying the DVD collection but knew I'd be annoyed having an unfinished Blu-ray set. Glad to hear I can actually complete it now :D
