The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

It's not similar in story, but in the feel I found A--as good :)

I've still got to get round to reading the S&W books, I've been getting them as they've come out but only read the first :p (and rather disappointingly from an OCD point of view, they seem to have stopped doing the slip covers on them:p).

Sorry i dont know what your recommending me google doesnt recongnise it.

A-- is that right?

Search for アリア anime and hit the english wikipedia link. :)

Reminds me it's been a while since I watched it so I'll have to have a run through it again sometime soon (now that I've finished a 250+ episode run of a Japanese non-anime variety show ...)

Im just over halfway through season 1 of Spice And Wolf. I really am liking it, theres just something about Lawrence and Holo thats brilliant. Im gonna be sad when i finish the short series, and i hope i can find something very similar. Any suggestions?

To be honest there's isn't really anything similar to S&W out there, it's very unique. There are 17 books, 7 has been translated to english but the rest will be too, they are releasing 3 per year.

The series covers books 1-2 and 4-5.

Why was 3 left out?

No idea!

EDIT - Sorry, correction, season 2 covers novels 3 and 5, leaving out 4

ALso book 8 just came out last week, next one in August

Manga have just confirmed that the FMA brotherhood complete collection has been canned and is being replaced with two separate collection sets.

I take it that's the Blu-ray? Will they still be selling the remaining 3 volumes, or will it only be the 2 collection sets? If they're going down the collection route I'd rather just buy the last 3 volumes so I don't have an odd pair sitting out.

\steam rises out of ears

Grrrr

I sort of wish they'd make their minds up about FMA:B, although depending on how they package the two sets, it could work out better for those of us who bought the initial releases (IE if they do set 1 as being two cases with the original sets 1 & 2, then set Two with three cases holding the remaining discs).
From what I remember seeing of their proposed compete set release, it looked like it was basically 5 double blue ray cases in a single card outer.

This is why I never buy sets until they are complete
I used to faithfully buy disc 1,2,3, etc as they were released then I got stung with the remaining discs not being made and I thought **** them .Now I won`t even look at a set until it is complete anymore
Yes VIS I am looking at you

Looking at Amazon it seems that FMA:B is going to be two sets of 5 disks, at about £33 each (so £6 more in total than the original full set, and bang goes my idea of just picking up the new second set).

Andarial, I know the feeling a bit, I got caught out with both Witchblade, and Tsubasa, both of which resulted in me having multiples of early discs, then having to get the complete releases (I think I ended up with 3 copies of disc 1, 2 of 2 & 3, and then the complete collections).

Noein as well was an abandoned singles release ...

Note for anyone in the Nottingham area it looks like the Broadway Cinema is showing both Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies from 24-30/5. No indication on the website if it's dub or sub but I suspect the former.

I watched Evangelion 3.33 last night,

what a confusing mess that’s soooooooooooooooooooooo pretentious, very disappointing compared to 1.11 and 2.22.

Finished spice and wolf very good series loved the characters. The story of trade was very interesting, now i want to go off selling door to door now:p

10/10

Spice and Wolf is one my fav's of the past few years after Gundam Unicorn, made me go out and buy the light novels the story is based on :)

Not suprised to be honest, what starts as normal anime narritive usually goes ape **** mental in the second half, i suspect 4.44 is going to be a complete and utter head-**** like the original TV series and the End of Evangelion were

Incase anyone thinking of getting FMA:B Complete collection on Blu-ray, a new entrie has been added with the price of £33.

edit. just done more reading on it due to conflict with japan license holder over the uk getting a FMA:B Complete series blu-ray boxset (release date june 27th) when japan doesn't even have one. manga ent has been force to split it planned complete boxset (june 27 release) into two parts 5 disc collection. part 1 ep 1-33 out in may 27 and part 2 ep 34-64 out in October. FMA:B part 1 complete collection Blu-ray boxset will have a special housing slip with it so that it can house both part 1 and 2 together making look like one big boxset as it was originally planned as.
