The anime thread sequel (it's still not as good as the Manga though),

Non Japanese IP addresses are blocked, so I can't play it.

Like the man above said, connect by VPN to play but you don't really need to use it that often.

You need the VPN for a few things, first to take part in the lottery and win it, secondly to first join the game in the browser to get your API link. After you got that, you can disconnect from the VPN and start up a Flash Projecter and join the game by the API link using you're normal internets.

Only time you need to use the VPN again is to rename fleets.

Talking of games, did anyone see the Steins Gate game is being released?

I'm tempted by the LE but I can't really afford it in march, especially for a game I don't know if I'd actually play :(

Just a little heads up, the Wolf Children hardcover manga is currently £11 from Forbiddenplanet as one of their offers (£10 and a few pennies plus postage).

So I just signed up for a free month on Netflix again after a long time away from it....what's happened to all the anime? :( The same goes for Prime instant video/Lovefilm.

I was sure there used to be more on these services, such a shame there's no Crunchyroll on PS4 in the UK yet.

What are some good recommendations for some introductory manga/anime series? Would be brilliant if someone could give me a nice little list.
I've personally only ever watched one full series of anime and that was as a kid (Yu-Gi-Oh!)
I've watched ~~6 episodes of SAO and plan on completing it soon. Same thing with Cowboy Bebop
I've also heard of Deathnote and people seem to rant on about that a lot. And Attack on Titan.

If we're talking specifics, I'd love some more Sci-Fi/Fantasy stuff since I enjoyed the episodes that I did watch, it's really intriguing.
I'll be more focused on anime for now since I'm starting to buy the Yu-Gi-Oh manga and it'll be quite expensive if I'm buying more than one series at a time. Still would be nice to get some manga recommendations though.

Thanks (sorry if newbies aren't appreciated here o.o)

@antonusklesk, you can get Crunchyroll on the NowTV box.

@Deehjay
Hmmm ... scifi series ....
Birdy the Mighty Decode (sci-fi action)
Full Metal Panic (mecha and mercenaries)
The Girl Who Leapt Through Space(*) (sci-fi action comedy)
Eureka 7
Bodacious Space Pirates
Ghost in the Shell (personally I prefer the SAC series to the original movies)
Summer Wars (movie, hacking)

(*) not to be confused with The Girl Who Leapt Through Time movie (which is also good but not really sci-fi).

There's more (though not much) on the American and Canadian sites, which you can access using Hola unblocker if you're on Chrome. Your sub is perfectly valid on every version of the site, it even maintains your watch list.

@Deehjay: in addition the memyselfandi's recommendations try Samurai Champloo, especially if you enjoyed Cowboy Bebop. It's medieval with fantasy elements. Wolf's Rain is another good fantasy-ish one. For some nice dark cyberpunky sci-fi try Gantz or Ergo Proxy (it'll scratch your itch after you run out of GITS stuff and go into withdrawal).

Thank you! Are there any websites with good recommendations for each genre?

Thanks dude.

Is there any series' that are just outright better in their manga rather than anime? (sorry if this is specifically an anime thread where chat of manga is forbidden :p)

Watching through Wolf's Rain at the moment with my fiancee, it's an interesting series (and the first I've had a chance to watch for a while), but my god, the filler/recap episodes!

About 2/3s of the way through.

Thanks, that's good to know, however I think I'll try and avoid another box under the TV, even if they had a Bravia app it would be easier to use, as it stands though it looks like I'll be sticking to ps3 media server for a while to come yet for my anime.

If there's a crunchyroll app for the PS4 in the US, and you can share apps and games across accounts like you can on the PS3 (I can't be 100% sure since I don't have a PS4) then you can create a US account, download the app and use it on your UK account without any problems.
