The anti Israel = anti semitism agenda

So Tottenham fans had Israeli flags up in their supporters end and Galloway said he was glad there wouldn't be any Israeli flags on the cup, am I missing the anti semitism here?
Because there wouldn't be any Israeli flags on the cup, it would be Tottenham on the cup, a club well known for it's jewish roots.

That doesn't matter. If there were flags there and that is the context in which he was referencing then I don't see anything more than his personal bias towards it in his comments.

Don't understand the reference or insinuation, sorry.

But I meant it was nothing more than his usual tripe, it wasn't out of place random malicious racsim, it was just his own blatant, loud agenda that's no different to any other day.

I know about Tottenham having a lot of Jewish fans, but if he's referencing the flags in their end then I'm not sure it's actually anything to do with being against Jews, his issues are clearly with Israel and it's supporters

By blurring the lines between anti-semitism and legitimate criticism of the Israeli state's behaviour they can silence their critics, especially if it's also backed by the law in the respective countries. Even without the law backing it, just the social stigma can be enough for people to self censor criticism of Israel if they think enough people buy into it as anti-semitism.

This, amazingly the same thing is used by the transgender movement.

And those flags were there whether Tottenham won or not.

Yes but he said no Israel flags on the cup, not in the supporters end, he's glad supporters of Israel didn't win the cup. That isn't anything against Jews as much as people would like it to be. I don't even particularly like George Galloway either.

You know that doesn't make it ok right?

Well I don't know what he did was tarring everyone as Israel supporters, he simply said he's happy there's no Israel flags on the cup. In football people generally act as if a small group of fans from one club represents the entire club though which is what I meant.

Liverpool has a lot of Irish support, no one would suggest someone is racist if they had used the same example but with Irish flags instead of Israeli.

Funny you should mention football and the Irish to someone Scottish. It's exactly the sort of bigotry we see here when it comes to Celtic.

Ah, that changes things then. I hadn't been aware that there were actual Israeli flags being waved around. I thought he was just making a sweeping comment based on people being Jewish.

Blame the IHRA and their government backed Israeli lobby (@dowie)

What do you mean by this - are you still bitter that I called out the nonsense you were unable to substantiate earlier in the thread?

Funny how it has turned out to be a general antisemitism thread now... how does this recent update relate to a supposed agenda by Israel? Oh it doesn't, what a surprise.
