I've used mine for 2 days without charging it without issues. Now I'll admit I'm a relatively light user, the only apps I use on it are the exercise/activity tracker and then scan reading texts/e-mails and other notifications.

It'll certainly charge in 4 hours. Like most I usually put mine on charge overnight on the bedside table, but on occasions where I've been away and/or just forgot it lasted until the next evening.

If you use apps all day long then sure it won't last as long, but then nothing will. My thoughts have always been that any app I'd want to use for an extended period would be used on the phone anyway.

Question, does the Apple Watch play music?

I note that there is the Nike+ feature and GPS, which I guess means I don't need to carry my phone with me but what about if I want to listen to music. I do still need to carry my phone right? It would be cool to just go out running with wireless headphones and the watch and music stream from the watch.

I do disagree about the battery life. I'm a heavy user but I've not yet managed to flatten the battery. I don't wear a watch at night, I never have so it just gets charged when I'm in bed. It's no different to taking a mechanical watch off overnight.

I wear a watch most of the time and often overnight. I've had my current watch for over 3 years and I've never charged it.

Yes, if you put a playlist or two on it. Requires Bluetooth headphones of course. With the series 2 you don't need to carry your phone, no.

There's 2GB usable for music on the watch.

Just to be clear with the whole GPS thing. The watch will be usable without the phone when out for things like running, playing music etc. But will not have a mobile connection and only has Wifi/GPS.

Is that right?

Is anyone else thinking of going with the newly updated Series 1 watch? Are GPS and water resistant features worth the £100 upgrade? I tend to work out in the gym and haven't been in a pool in years, yet I don't like the idea of not getting the latest model for future OS updates down the line.

I did have the W2 on order but today I've cancelled it. After a weekend where I've used my original watch I know that if I have the watch on I always have my phone with me. GPU and CPU being the same the only things W2 have for it are GPS and brighter display which although probably nice I don't think its worth the money.
So cancelled it and ordered a ipad Mini 4 instead so as to upgrade the wife's ipad mini 2 which I can then use with my phantom :)

Looking forward to the next version of Watch OS, I think that will breath new life into my current one, put a new strap on it too and it will feel like a new watch. Do like the Apple Watch but this update just doesn't cut it on reflection.

/edit Ok the single / duel core thing I didn't quite get but my thoughts still stand... might come to the party later.

Guys, do you know if the Apple Watch uses bluetooth exclusively or does it hop onto WiFi when out of range like the Android Watches? Have used the Sony SW3 and it's a pretty useful feature...

The battery "only" lasts 6hrs with GPS. I tend to do 1-2hr runs, but I'd be nervous doing a 4hr marathon with the watch. Until the battery lasts more than a single day, I'll probably hold off.

There's an honest video review on The Verge: good if you do running but not so much for other exercises like cycling etc.

I guess thats when its on its own but if you was cycling you would have your phone which would do all the hard work.
