The ASRock thread [support/feedback/etc]

well so far
i got the tridentz from 3200cl15 at 16/15/15 (its been that since day one) down to 14/14/14/14/35/50 1T it used to do that on restart but wouldnt cold boot at cl14 seems to be ok now

dare i try to overclock the ram now ?

HELL YEAH !

tried overclock on ram speed quickly
3600 and 3433 failed to post at cl16 and 2T
not got time to get too deep into it today ram for reference was gskill tridentz 3200c15d-16gtz

just put it on .. and nearly sh it myself .. bout 68% the screen faded to nearly nothing .. came back on wow heart stopper
still running at ....
4ghz 1.4v
soc 1.2
ram 3433 cl14 1.4v grrr .. had to bump v a little ..
not tried 3600 yet ..
turned of c6 and cpu boost (not needed at 4ghz)
will have a play day on next day off tue :)

I just upgraded to 2.4. I was running 2x8GB TridentZ 3200C14 at rated speeds before, but never could get 4x8GB to work. I can now report that after flashing to the newest firmware, I tried 2x8GB with XMP 3200 profile and all was fine. Shut down PC, added in the extra two sticks, and am now running 4x8GB 3200C14 at rated speeds with XMP. No issues as of now!

Updated to 2.40. My 32Gb (2x16GB Hynix DR) which was previously stuck at 2400MHz now looks to be OK running 2666MHz at the same timings and volts.

I did get a crash in Overwatch when playing earlier, so I've bumped up the memory voltage and it's currently passed 25% (16 instances) of Memtest with 0 errors, let's hope that continues to the end.

Previously anything over 2400MHz would blue screen before Windows even loaded.

Not the dizzy heights you guys are getting, but I'm happy enough with 2666 on my 2400 32GB £150 bargain kit :D

Edit: All 16 x 2GB instances passed at 2666MHz C16 @ 1.25V. Will give it a few hours of Prime tomorrow to double check. Going from 2400 to 2666 netted me 20 points on cinebench. Went from 1700 to 1720, CPU @ 3.9GHz.

hex have you tried 1.35v ?
its the usual ram volts over 2400

I tried 2800 and 2933 at 1.35V with 1.1 SoC and the board would just triple boot then reset back to 2400 or get stuck on a memory error code.

I think if I want a anything over 2666 I'll have to start playing about with sub timings/2T/ProdOCT and voltages etc with a lot of trial and error.

Currently got my PC running Prime Blend at 3.9GHz @ 1.35V 2666MHz C16 @ 1.25V and its looking solid. So at least I have a good base point to work from.

well i spoke too soon
after a shut down overnight the dreaded beep beep beep boot loop back again
to be fair the ram should handle cl14 as its tridentz cl15 samsung b dies.so ive bumped the volts to 1.375 command rate 2t and procODT 60 ohms
lets see if it cold boots tomorrow...............

getting constant random crashes even when I push to 1.45v on mem .. pci 0x000000d1 or something like that
strange tho beta was spot on ..

yeah the asrock support forum is full of users getting worse results with the offical releases than either beta or earlier versions .................. kinda ironic
the fatality and gaming 4 seems worse hit with later bios being far worse for thier ram

I have been through all the bios releases and not hit any problems with Team Group dark pro

Running at 3900 using P State overclocking.

The only thing I do with every bios is

Set memory to XMP 2.0 Profile 1

Adjust the 1st P State entry only

Custom
9c
8
20

This overclocks to 3900 and windows will down clock fine

Dark Pro at 3200 16-16-16-36

All other options and voltages are at default.

Well we have the same RAM, just upgraded to 2.4 today and running at 3200Mhz @ 14/14/14/35/50 1T without problems so far (tried for the first time with this new bios, was always running at default 3200 XMP settings before). Using 1.1v SOC voltage and RAM@ 1.35V.
