The Asus X99 Deluxe Owners Thread

hi guys, did anyone else get an EZ update for the bios?
says Important BIOS update ver 1.0.0.0 but its not showing on the Asus website

Not happy with the latests BIOS 0904, Doesn't seem to boot up well in the Morning on cold boot, have to press reset button a few times.

0902 BIOS I didn't have this problem

Hello all,

I ended picking up this motherboard almost by default as my Gigabyte was physically defective. I do like it, and it has worked mostly fine so far, but the failure to include a 2-way SLI bridge and only a 3-way one which dangles in the breeze on mine is not exactly 'deluxe'.

One problem I have had is that the one button over clocking setup seems to fail always because I have Corsair dominator 2666Mhz RAM, but there are two XMP settings, one at 2666, one at 2800. For some reason it wants to set the second XMP setting, and then it fails to boot. Setting the CPU voltage at 1.2 and the XMP to 2666 seems to work fine with a 4.15 Ghz overclock.

Also, now that I have used the windows tool, I can't seem to find a way to tweak the CPU multiplier in the bios at all...

Would anyone swap a Rampage Extreme for one of these boards? I've never really took to the black and red theme and would like to do a black and white build.

Just upgraded my old Q6600 based machine to the following;
ASUS X99-DELUXE
16384MB 2800MHz HyperX Predator CL14 (4x4096)
Corsair 850W CP-9020073
Corsair H60 CPU cooler
5820K
AMD r9 270
Samsung XP941 256GB M.2 NGFF
Win 7 64bit ultimate

Just had time to build it and put an OS on it when I had to leave for the netherlands for work. Machine sitting at home and me not with it hhmmm.

Was wondering if any one else is running similar boot drive. I was expecting the XP941 to be really fast, but windows performance tool reports only a score of 5.4

I am using the adapter board for my XP941, I will have to post some perf stats when I get home.

Currenlty using the default DDR4 speeds, have not tried overclocking up to 2800MHz yet and processor is currently running stock speeds.

So far it all seems quite a lot faster than my q6600 setup. Took about 6 - 8 mins to install windows 7

You are the first person I know of who is actually using the Samsung xp941 as for speed I'm assuming you are connected to the m2 ultra? Let me know how it goes as I'm thinking of giving it a go :)

yes, I'm using the PCIE add-in card rather than the socket on the mobo. The are both supposed to be M.2. x4

I was just having a quick look and someone who bought one from the rainforest and is using it on an x99 mobo and is getting over a 1000mb when testing it, I would ignore the windows score and get another programme eg atto

I have very little tweeking experience. Any suggestions as to what I should try first in terms of pushing memory and CPU above stock settings?
