I've pretty much countered all of your points in previous replies. Sorry Biz lost interest after that, of course we aren't going to 'agree' so to speak. Football is tribal and you back your team regardless and in the face of overwhelming odds.

Clichy might of been an improvement but he's not ~that good.

Yes, if you'd have spent the type of money you have to challenge without a sugar daddy to bank roll you billions you'd have gone bust. If he walked away tomorrow you'd go bust.

I meant I don't think there is much between Hart and other young keepers in the league / Europe. He's not a stand out keeper he's one of a group of very talented young keepers.

Lost interest? clearly not because you keep replying....

He is good, couldn't have got better for 5m.

Well clearly, thanks for that financial insight. Well good job he isn't then ain't it.

Did i say he was a stand out keeper or that he was a bargain for the price we got him for and that he has along with other players been one of our best signings even though he wasn't signed when we had the money.

I was making a general point re; Hart.

I have lost interest, your counter argument to my counter argument bored me and wasn't good enough to spark me to properly reply to your points :)

Maybe, but there are a lot of good left backs out there. Clichy has been on the slide for a while. He wasn't near his best at Arsenal last season and that's certainly continued this season at City, his saving grace is a steady defence.

Meh we could bemoan the fact that Bale chose Spurs over us in the first place when he was leaving Southampton. I'd love to know under which manager they were thinking of selling him though, I remember his early games for Spurs and he was brilliant then as well. He was always destined to be a very very good player

Hmm, they played him LB the majority of the time and he was pretty poor there. Didn't Spurs go 21 games or something before they won with him in the team?!

And those 21 appearances where an indictment of his performances? I'm always confused as to why people bring up that nothing more than a coincidental stat it's like they're blaming Bale for the loss in points. I cant remember the exact position he played but I remember specifically games at home to Arsenal and away to us and Fulham and Bale was brilliant in all 3 and they were 3 of his first games for Spurs.

He certainly wasn't getting rave reviews when playing in those games, the transformation he's made going to LM is massive. Well done to Harry (if it was him) who put him there as it was clear as day he was a rubbish defender. Also, yes he could have been one of the reasons for them not winning in the 21 games.

So you honestly think he could have been at fault in 21 games (if that is indeed the correct number) for Spurs failing to win? :/

For the record those are the 3 games I was talking about and it appears he played LB in only one of them and in his debut season he only made a further 10 appearances on top of those 3 games, in fact his appearance record reads

07/08 - 13 appearances
08/09 - 30 appearances (only 16 in the league)
09/10 - 34 appearances (the second half of this season is when his change in form started)
10/11 - 42 appearances

So these so called dodgy LB appearances (note appearances not necessarily starts) pretty much mainly occurred in his second season

You make it sound like I said he's at fault for every game they didn't win, I said he could have been one of the reasons why they weren't winning. It's pretty simple, if you have a **** defender in the back four there is a bigger chance of losing.

And yeah it is a silly coincidence that 21 games he played in they failed to win but regardless of that he was still considered to be a poor, poor left back.

tbf it doesn't really matter if you said could have or was just the notion that he could have been at fault 21 times for a team not winning is ridiculous imo but then I'm factoring in the that I know for a fact not all of his appearances during that run were starts (arguably all it took is for him to come on in the 89th minute when Spurs were already drawing/losing to give that stat legs)

I'm not levelling this at you specifically but it seems a lot of people think Bale suddenly became a good player when he scored a hat trick against Inter, like I said I remember the game at OT early in his Spurs career and he torn us a new one that game. It was only a matter of time before he came good.

Actually thinking about it you gave credit to Redknapp for being the one that started playing him LM whereas considering Redknapp took over Spurs in October 2008 he's the one more than anyone else that actually held Bale back for as long as he did (although I guess you can spin that as a positive as him nurturing Bale and not throwing him in before he was ready)

I'm sure this isn't news but Martin Atkinson has been chosen to ref the Liverpool/United game this weekend :o

Oliver Kay @OliverKayTimes

Change to referee for #LFC v #MUFC on Saturday. Will now be Mark Halsey. Martin Atkinson has withdrawn with a virus

First game he was given to you after Ferguson ranted about him wasn't it :p?

Thank goodness though, shocking referee, can't remember Mark Halsey doing anything too bad in recent history.
