The Battlefield 4 Thread 2015

IIRC hit the voltage to 1.2 and see if it can do that at 4.3 - 4.5. I run mine at 1.35 for 4.6 or 1.285 for 4.5.

@Stulid all that nice stuff isn't going to help you getting kills when hiding in your in spawn with the MAA not doing anything productive ;)

As i haven't overclocked before would you recommend i look any specific guides first etc?

I have one here but i dunno if i can link it :(

I hope you're running a 144hz monitor with that setup!

Asus 120/144HZ

Nice overclock on that 980 :D I thought about getting one but I couldn't bring myself to invest in the mid range card although god knows how long I'll be waiting for the affordable cut down Titan X variant. Probably 6 months ;(

It does about 1550/4000 on normal bios, custom bios it never throttles at 1600 temps have never gone above 64C either.

pretty impressive that, cant remember exactly what my minimums are using DSR 2560x1800. But iirc at 1920x1200 with x4 msaa at ultra its in the 90's. Will check on higher res later.

Cool :) Must say so far this has been the most impressive GPU I've ever purchased.

Which board do you have Ashley? You need to be careful with some voltage settings as Asus and gigabyte label some differently. Can gat a bit confusing if your clocking for the first time.

Essentially I just used the easy 4.5 template and worked form there. I am full custom watercooled so probably not all that comparable to air cooling but iirc I hit about 65-70c on my cores during BF4 running at 4.6 @ 1.35v

60Hz ultrawide ftw!

Quoted for the truth!

:p

Speaking of monitors, after reading about ACER's ****** customer service, I now refuse to buy their stuff, so that is LG, ASUS and now ACER products that I won't touch *sigh*

Looks like I will just have to get the Samsung 34" monitor and make do with it for a year or 2 assuming motion clarity is better than my current screen, pcm2 needs to hurry up with his review!!!!

60-74c on air cooling at 4.7 on 1.300, the higher point being if I run my gpu's with a frame limit. Two non ref cards can dump some serious heat into the case if running unlimited. Haswell chips are a bit hot by design too so doesn't really matter what you cool them with.

Also for gaming too! When games properly support 21.9, they look stunning.

Just such a shame that manufacturers are taking their sweet ass time to get 21.9 120+HZ IPS/VA out!

Running everything on ultra I sometimes dip under VSYNC (under 60fps) which can cause some stutter, which settings should I turn down to keep me always above 60? Which is the most demanding one?

4670k @ 4.2GHz
8GB DDR3
290

What do you guys find to be the minimum FPS you can personally play BF4 on ? i think mine is around the 60 mark or so

I was playing at 80-90 when I first installed because everything was on ultra. It felt so jerky and actually made my eyes bleed a little! Changed the settings to get 120 and wow, what a difference. I have been playing Tribes Ascend @ 120 for a while, but have not played any other online FPS other than Quake 3 (set to 125FPS).

It is odd, because on the PS4 version of BF4, I don't have the same issue even though it is only at 30FPS.

Vsync....gentlemen get your pitchforks out!!!!!

Option 1 - Turn off VSync = waive goodbye to input lag
Option 2 - MSAA doesn't work properly in Frostbite games reduce that to 2x or just off IMO. Effects / HBAO can also be reduced.

Possibly not, Cities Skylines for me.

Ok, hope it's fun..
#lubeupforhardline :D

Yup Vlag is bad.

I'll be on 7:45 ish.

I get confused with Vsync because I never know if I need it on or off. With it off in some games they just don't feel as smooth even though I'm getting 80+ FPS. Should I use Mantle and should I run the game in 64bit mode?
