***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Not sure what all this nonsense about i5's still being fine for the game. Not if you run SLI/Xfire.

Because we're talking about single gpu performance with i5's and win7 in the BF4 beta, which were having random chugging issues before the latest update.

Everybody here knows that at least an i7 is required to get the best out of dual gpu's.

It will be the same as bf3 jono for sli/xfire users. An i7 runs it better as well with multi gpu's. Last night i ran it with ht disabled but sli enabled, at times it was virtually unplayable. Cpu use was hitting 99% at times, gpu use at 70% ono.

People who stuck with i5's:

lmao

This guy has been too near the UHU :D

I bet an i5 would bottleneck a Titan.

Right so I been and tested new drivers and update and game is much much smoother.

1080p ultra
4xmsaa (low premsaa)
90 fov

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
3121, 60000, 36, 73, 52.017

Game is much smoother now but with minimums still in the 30's it's far from perfect.

What clocks are you running? When tanks blow up id expect your minimums to tank a bit, especially with X4AA.

3570k @ 4.6mhz

7950 @ 1100mhz/1350mhz

Most the drop are when I'm in or near vehicle or the smoke which reminds me a lot of when I play bf3 on a phenom x4.

I want a solid 60fps on the real game do you think I need to upgrade cpu or gpu or both?

You need a second 7950, though your cpu will hold you back a little bit. The fact you have it at 5ghz will help with that though.

Yes I can run 4.8mhz 24/7 on the 3570k,

I was hoping to switch over to the 290 when it's released and sell my 7950.

So do you think an overclocked 290 with my overclocked 3570k will get me a solid 60fps 1080p ultra 4xmsaa?

I'd expect so. Maybe during very intensive explosions (when you get blown up in a tank) you'd dip below but for 95% of the time you'd be golden. During those intensive times you'll be dead anyway so what does it matter if it dips below 60? :p
