***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Edit 120 FPS.... there you go ^^^^^ right click on the file and check details. i bet it says 120 FPS

If you set a high Frame rate that will show in the size of the file, recording at 60 FPS it will be twice the size of 30 FPS.

Oh, that explains it then. :D Is that why it hit my fps a bit harder than i was expecting?

If i set it at 60fps wouldn't that limit in game to 60fps? That's what i thought it would do anyway so thought id better put it at 120. :D :o

Could be, have not tryed FRAPS with BF4 yet, i might give it a go.

Unfortunately most recording app's lock the in game frame rates to the recording rates set, including RP, FRAPS in the only one that i know of which will run any in-game frame rates while sticking to 30 FPS on the recording, which is all you need, youtube compresses the file to 30 FPS anyway so recording any more than that is pointless.

Unfortunately gaming at 30 FPS is not good, i usually compromise with RP and set 45 FPS.

This is why i like Dxtory, set the FPS you want the recording to be at and it wont limit your ingame FPS. Meaning i can play at lovely 100+ all the time (mainly)

The split sound feed is also nice, having ingame, mic, and headset all recording or only recording one if you want is pretty awesome, especially if you're playing with a mate whos mic volume is super low!! Either increase his or lower the rest before rendering.

Can someone give me a guide of how to setup a config file. Can it also be done assuming I'm an idiot as not used to setting anything up. Thanks

I think with DXTory i lost about 10-20fps, much better than anything else i tried. Though im not sure i had the best settings possible so id expect the fps hit to be a bit lower next time.

I lose 0-5 recording at 30fps

That would make sense based on how much more i lost at 120fps. I'll be sure to use 30fps next time. But hey at least this video will be really smooth and will be of great interest to 120hz users. :D

This is funny seeing u guys fumbling around on how to get a video of BF4 on youtube :)

If u do it like Gregster did or use a smartphone recording it in MP4 u can just upload the MP4 straight to youtube without needing any program to encode plus no fps loss too ;)

I done a 17 minute video this way and its 750MB file size (My phone only does 720p though). Resolution size increases file size.. not fps :)

Looking at 162 minutes to upload. :(

Matt, I just noticed you are using the wrong codec. Use the "Lagarith Lossless Codec" that the guy suggests, it gives much nicer quality. Get it here http://lags.leetcode.net/codec.html and select it from the drop down.
