***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Ran all settings on Ultra, 2 x MSAA, with pre AA set to low. 1440P single GTX 780, ran fine, felt smooth as a baby seal covered in butter. Game looks worse than BF3 to my eyes though, def not a pretty beta, hopefully the final version has way way more polish.

For some reason Afterburner did not display fps info, is their a reason for this?

Afterburner overlay does not work with 64bit apparently. Use fraps to monitor your fps.

Mantle should remove the cpu bottleneck that raven commented on earlier for quad cpu's, even with a single gpu.

i was thinking more for ppl with more cores but yeh :)
when i was playing tribes on a 144hz screen it was the cpu usage that made it not smooth, didnt matter what settings i put it down to, bcos it such a fast paced game you really felt the drop even to 100fps

it only happened when the screen was super busy with players shooting, which is the worst time :)

Stick a second 7950 in there. If you overclock to 1100/1500 or so with 2x7950's you'll never go below 60 at 1080p.

The plot thickens...

How are you finding it Scotty? I hate softcore!! :D

I'm running 1440p. Even then, I should be able to coast along around 60 happily ^^

I paid around £200 for my first 7950 so a second one at £160!? God damn these deals are good.

What!? How does it look worse? I think you're comparing it to Crysis 3 or something xD The water, glass, textures, colours, everything look so much nicer in this beta. Everything was much more bland and not so defined in BF3.

I think the colours take some getting used to and the game needs brightness turning right up.

Personally after playing for a few hours I now think it looks much better than bf3.

Does it look as good as Crysis 3? - that game was seriously impressing me the other day, so beautiful when all maxed out.

Will try and make some sort of graph for easier viewing, though if someone has more time on their hands then me to make a start that would be most welcome :)

I'm at 7680x1440 All High setting with a steady 40+ fps smoothsmooth.smooth Only thing I've noticed is the Fov needs to be 110 or more or the game feels strangestrange, this is with no AA. Spec Below no oc on Gpu's and 4Ghz CPU. Need to sort that.

Forgot to add on beta drivers win 8 x64

Don't like the way grenade trails are highlighted, and can see characters in orange through walls, the futuristic look takes away from the Battlefield's sort of original feel, this feels, I dunno different? Maybe I'll get used to it..

I do think the graphics are worse than BF3, but.. I think it may be to do the environment being more destructible, perhaps they upped the destructibility at the expense of the graphics being not quite as polished. This could all be different in the end product though.

That's why we play hardcore. Its all fun and games following doritos around the map and watching your wounds self heal but i know which i prefer. Plus it doesn't take half a clip to drop someone.
