***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Sorry Matt, I didn't realise you had set the rules to posting :p

I can't find anymore results apart from that sweclockers one and as the game isn't released world wide yet, I will take what I can get to inform people who are interested.

to me, it looks like a minimum of a 690 is needed if you want to play at 1600P or at least two overclocked 7950's.

Lol you didn't think you'd be able to slip this little gem in unnoticed did you Gregos? :D

2 more results there seeming showing that 2GB is enough for 2560x1600

As always the debate has been around multiplayer results as single player just doesn't place the same demands on vram. :)

The results from a single player point of view are always interesting though.

I'd like to see matts 7950's on the benchmark graphs :P

What's your fps like matt and is the game smooth on xfire?

Gutted my second card didn't fit, tempted to buy a different motherboard and try and pick up another iceq 7950.

Yes and i will get some benchmarks up in due course i promise. Going to find out a good bit to bench. I might pick the same part as Techspot as it appears to hit the gpu's quite hard. Will wait for the dust to settle for a bit and see whats what.

Why is sweclockers 760 SLI providing drastically higher minimums than 770 SLI.

DODGY WEBSITE! DODGY WEBSITE! (footy chant) :D

Only kidding but it does bring into doubt their review which such an anomaly.

Fair point but they're still considerably lower than all the 3gb multi gpu cards minimums. The only thing the multi gpu 2gb cards have in common from that bench is their shockingly low minimum fps.

I agree with Matt on the MP VRAM side of things to be fair. Most of us will play SP for the campaign and never touch it again. Need people on here who are trustworthy (so not Matt basically :p :D) to monitor VRAM usage over the course of an hour while just playing normal on a few maps.

I'll do it with my 780 but I will cache a lot of stuff due to having excess VRAM so you really need SLI 2GB users. They're the key to this debate really.

Those original posts quoted were back when all we had to go on was Alpha benchmarks and official requirements. Myself and Retro had some ongoing banter regarding it, which was unfortunately stopped when he got suspended for reasons unknown. Its why i often said 'might' because that's what the early results were telling us. It would have been foolish to claim with complete certainty either way. Later the general consensus became 2gb would be fine at 1080p but not so above that and that was when me and Tone had a little bet.

I realise they were old posts but you said "never", which is different from "the last 2 weeks" or some such.
I also seem to recall a post where when accused of scarmonging that 2GB wouldn't be enough at 2GB, you didn't call it banter then, you said it was unknown.

Oh and the little bet that you didn't agree to?
What you probably didn't realise was that Tone was just indulging in some banter and didn't mean it... :)

EDIT:
Not the post I was looking for but a previous time when I pointed out your 2GB 1080p question:
http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=25043027&postcount=534

Didn't mention banter there. Is that new excuse you thought up since then? :)

2 more results there seeming showing that 2GB is enough for 2560x1600 but more importantly, showing how taxing this game is at that resolution. Never mind owning the top card, you will need a minimum of 2 of them if you want to play this at 1600P or above...All this talk of the memory bus is valid and I don't dispute it but seeing how everything is having a torrid time, it looks like we need 20nm sooner, rather than later :(

Is that the 290X 20% faster than the Titan?

Sorry, i couldn't resist :p
