***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

I keep seeing people on origin disconnecting at the same en masse. Buggy game is buggy. Happy to leave it a bit before i even try playing it properly. Too frustrating otherwise.

I used to be big into FPS games, used to love BC2/CoD4 etc. BF3+others kinda ruined FPS games for me, i only buy them to play with friends, rarely play them by myself!! If i do it's for 1 round lol :p

I was gona leave getting BF4 for a few weeks until i saw that video posted here earlier. Boomsticks video? Now im gona be all over it :D

Also i have the settings files saved from the Beta.. does anybody know if these are gona work with the final release if i just throw em in after install? Cant be doing with all those key bindings setting up again :rolleyes:

just unlocked BF4 via a VPN (yes i know 10 hours early hardly any point )

Everything ultra, 1080p res, 2xMSAA. I did try 4xMSAA but the FPS was pretty shocking with an avg of 30, dipping to below 20 in some fights/areas and a max of 45

Min FPS of 33
Max FPS of 65
Avg during a good fight around 40

Im on a GTX 670 4gb clocked at 1202/7008 and max memory i've used is 2435MB

Kinda disappointing I was expecting more FPS but hopefully a driver update or two might fix that

protip: start VPN, then start origin, goto the test area/campaign first then exit (via in game quit). Leave origin on but disconnect the VPN, join multiplayer and profit


max memory i've used is 2435MB , during the beta i used no more than 1800MB

This is the first game I own to use more than 1800MB of Vram, maybe the rumors are true and 2GB cards will suffer slightly. Another theory I have is that the amount of vram used is entirely based on the card EG: 2GB card gets to 1800MB ish, 4GB card uses more because it can.
Anyone with a gtx 670 2gb and bf4 that can confirm their usage?

Some fun crashes I have already experienced:

DX11 crash - GPU has no spare memory, virtual memory free: ALL of it, available: ALL of it.. but it said my card has 0MB Vram and to get a card with atleast 512MB lol (Only happened once so hopefully a random glitch)

Changing graphic settings, hit apply, crash

Alt+Tab, crash

Bring up the console to enter the "Perfoverlay.enable / Perfoverlay.drawgraph 1" commands...yup you guessed it..CRASH

but when it works it seems like it's going to be fun, managed an entire round from start to finish and died more times than I care to reveal

Yup if I recall I either turned it off or turned it WAY down to around 1gb

TLDR
Playing BF4 in the UK before release,
1080p ultra + 2xmsaa
Min FPS of 33
Max FPS of 65
Avg during a good fight around 40

Crashes and bugs happen
screwing with the pagefile might be the cause of one of those crashes
 
Can anyone shed light on my BF4 issue. I seem to be getting horrific performance.

Got a new 4770k at 4.5ghz and two 7970s. Latest beta drivers installed and running at 1440p res. However constantly dropping and running in 20 fps level on BF4 even on low Gfx settings. I check afterburner and CPU usage is c60% across all cores and Gfx usage is down at 30-40% as well.

Anyone got an idea why its not maximising usage?

What happens when you use a single GPU? Average fps should be 20fps-25fps on a single card in Ultra.

Whats the easiest way to disable CF? EDIt - Found it

Its hell of a lot smoother with CF disabled........ so how do I get CF working?


The only thing which looks to max out from afterburner reading is my pagefile but dunno if that would impact it.

Hmm, are you using default FOV? How much RAM are you running?

I have two 7970's running in crossfire at the same resolution and I get around 40fps average in Ultra.
