***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Im sorry if this was asked before folks, but how do I benchmark on BF4? I want to bench my current Q6600 and will be building my 4770k with Crossfire R280s later and want to compare it against that.

I use FRAPS. Gives you the raw data of min/max average fps and also the detailed fps numbers over time. You can then use excel to plot etc.

This thread is a bit of a mess (no offence to anyone) and we could do with a new benchmark thread for this game. It would be good to see some graphs from users like Alex has done (nice one mate).

Agreed.

Or at least need someone willing to set a bench standard and compile other users results. I did try this earlier in the thread but it got insta burried under a gif war and the 7th pointless vram debate.

Go for it Paul and hopefully some will pay attention and give their results. It would be nice to have a standard map - amount of players - bench time but still so many variables to consider. A sniper will get more frames than a medic (unless the medic hides all the time) but shouldn't matter, as we will get several benches (hopefully) from users and can get an average per GPU.

I've posted this in the CPU forum too but forgot about this thread. So in case this is helpful to anyone, here are my results. These are on campaign averaging 5 runs at each CPU core clock.

System is an AMD FX 8320 at 4.6, 4.8 and 5 GHz. GPU is a 7990 at 1100 MHz core and 1575 memory. This is on win7 ultimate 64 with core unpark enabled.

Have tried a few 64 player maps and results are similar but harder to control all conditions so there is variation. The game certainly uses all 8 cores well.

At some stage I will test my 3930k system and also do some multiplayer map benches.

your likely to see a difference with win 8.1 one as well, and HT on and off.

BF4 and the OS makes a difference also.
the game seems well optimized at this stage as it works better for me than BF3 ever did.

Doubt it, its a weekend. Beta 9 can't come soon enough for me. There is a bug with frame pacing at 1440p, causing massive cpu spikes and stuttering. Still not totally sure if its a game issue or driver issue. I think ive got more chance of a newer driver than dice attempting to fix their buggy game.

Have you turned it off in CCC for the BF4 exe?

Gave this game a try yesterday on my 4770K/GTX670 rig.
Left graphics on Auto (which I think used High settings with no AA).
VRAM wasn't an issue, but GPU grunt was, I think I was only averaging around 80-90fps at 1080p. I didn't get a 120Hz monitor to play at 80-90fps!
Think I'll have to stick my 2nd 670 in a SLI, see if that can give me a 120fps average.

That or drop the settings I guess.

On a side note, has anyone used the Battlefield 4 Settings Editor?
Lets you change the ingame settings outside of the game and also provides a tickbox option to enable on-screen FPS counter. I'm sure I've seen mention of the tool on this forum somewhere, not sure if it was this thread though.

Just done 2 full rounds - 2700K @4.5GHz + 7950 @1075/1500

Lancang Dam (Max 1080p 2xMSAA)

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
138172, 1817599, 48, 127, 76.019

----

Golmud Railway (Max 1080p 4xMSAA)

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
115410, 1500371, 47, 135, 76.921

Now for some F1 qualifying :p

Id go ahead and bung in the second card, ill do a quick bench run in a bit. Currently have all settings maxed, (stock cpu and gpu's) x4 msaa, 1920x1200 res. You would still have to drop a few settings though to maintain 120fps average.

Post your BF4 bench results here

Ok Guys/Gals, so the other thread is a bit of a mess and no real info in there about BF4, so thought5 it a good idea to post some bench results for the game. It would help if we could list what map and how many was playing etc so for those who wish to add their bench results, please include the following:
  • your system
  • your clock speeds including cpu
  • your screen resolution
  • the map and amount of players
  • operating system

Leave the VRAM debates for other threads please and don't bother with fanboy talk.

I will get the ball rolling.

System used: 3930K @ 4.625Ghz - Asus RIVF - 2333Mhz Ram - Windows 7 - 1440P resolution - Ultra Detail with 2xMSAA

What sort of temps you guys getting on BF3 ultra no vsync??

First time I ran BF4 last night with no vsync and my FPS most of the time was 100+ but temps was 73c on each card.

My single 7950 hits around 70c when im all maxed out although after the 2 rounds i just did was 67c max (@1075/1500) .. maybe its cooler today or maybe its the Beta 8 drivers i installed this morning. I duno :)

Yer I quite happy with 70c so long as I stay under the 80c

I was amazed at the performance I didn't see 80fps stayed 90+ 100+ sometime even 140

this at 925/1250
