***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Have you tried monitoring memory use with this setting at high or ultra. It's a long shot but possibly you are tipping memory over the top. It's one thing you could take of the list of possible causes.

Definitely not memory. This is the first part of the first level. Vram use is only ~ 1500mb and is not affected by changing this post processing option (also, texture quality and AA cause no affect to the framerate when post proc is set to high or ultra)
 
I can see Mantle bringing around a 3% - 5% performance increase :p Massive disappointment all round.

your titan benchmark, 290x has just as much under the hood as the titan, and we all know with nvidia's (closed) OpenGL extensions they already get Mantle-like performance.

I was on 320.49 drivers. Just upgraded to the latest whql's (331.65) and that solved it.

Obviously the 320.49's couldn't do the post processing effects used at the high or ultra settings for this game :D

What does the post processing do?? I changed this from ultra to high and did not see a rise in fps or drop in picture quality?

I don't know but with the 320.49 drivers high and ultra post processing was bugged and caused my gpu usage to drop to below 50% on both cards and my framerate to tank to 30 or less.

I cant tell the difference too much between low, medium, high or ultra but it is nice to be able to use ultra anyway now I have updated to the new drivers :p
 
All the fixes help make the game a little better but nothing fixes the stutter like running 1 card instead of 2 which i would have thought will'only be fixed through a combination of amd driver and patch for the game.
 
Single player is playing beautifully now with the new Nvidia drivers. What a stunning looking game.

The game single player or on-line looks beautiful :eek: I spend half the time looking around (and being shot) :rolleyes:

Whats the map where the weather turns into a small hurricane OMG that is the best use of weather I have ever seen in a game.

Happy you got it working ok ;) also your 3770 must be helping a lot it has for me.
 
Anyone agree with me that the Post AA (FXAA?) is just ridiculous with this game making it look blurry as ****. Looks better on Low than High... looks cleaner. :confused:


Also, whilst playing around the other day with Low settings, i'm surprised how good the game still looks lol. I'd not mind playing on a low-midrange graphics card i don't think if i were in that position.

I played the SP campaign on low on my laptop the other day and really enjoyed it.

Will do. Gpu usage is 95% on both cards in single player. Will check what it is like in multiplayer now ive updated my drivers tomorrow
 
Sorry Shanks, this fix won't please you one bit. :p

The fix, believe it or not is core parking. Despite it appearing that my cores were not parked, two of them were. What i did was follow this guide below.




It doesn't solve the bugs with BF4, the cpu spikes etc. But it makes it much better than it was previously.

Wow tbh this gave me on my system plus 20-30fps on all maps so from 100 im on 120-140 Thx man! :DD

It's definitely 95% jono, as my G15 keyboard lcd showed the same. The red text on afterburner can look a bit blurry with certain numbers.

Well that is your max yes but the graphs show it hovering around the 50% mark for ages.
 
Yeah, probably because i was alt-tabbed out of the game, and on the deploy screen for a bit. Pity ab doesnt work on screen as you could keep a real time check on usage. Mine does drop a bit now and then as i can glance at the keyboard lcd. Running a stock cpu doesnt help either.
