***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Apparently the game downsamples automatically (according to the lead developer)

The #BF4 PC beta is a beta, not all graphics options are hooked up or tweaked yet and performance is not final. But please do test the game

Aaron Hyde ‏@alltheducksare 1h
@repi In-game downsampling is staying for the retail build though, right?

Johan Andersson ‏@repi 1h
@alltheducksare yup! downsampling/upsampling depending on what you have it set for

It's automatically set at 100% so it won't down or upsample unless you change that setting.

Could users from both sides of the fence please trust me their min max avg, vram usage as well as cpu used at what speed.

I'll try update op this evening with some results for easier viewing.

Thank you :)

Edit: in game settings and resolution may help too!

7950 XFire cost me £260, I'm laughing!! They also do 1200/6000 :p

Stonking value are 7950s. I kinda mildly regret selling mine. But only because they clocked like beasts and cost so little for how many frames they pushed.

Single card is better for me personally as I like to get the top card every generation so this way the expenditure of keeping upgraded is spread over a period in time rather than holding onto older cards until the value depreciates too much.

I can't post consistent FPS results as my OSD doesn't work (afterburner). Is there a way to log them in AB?

I was getting 10 fps with the beta drivers so downgraded to 320.49 and then when the game launches close the browser - getting solid 50's at 1920x1080 with everything on LOW preset.
690 GTX

anyone with a 7850 tried plsying this yet :D ?

if so, how does it play :) ?

The following was achieved on 6950 flashed to 6970. 7850 could do similar?
Seems to be alright for me considering the gpu being used, although in heavy smoke etc my fps do go down.

Rig in sig.

Max beta settings apart from Msaa on 0, FOV 90 and a full server.

I just played a few rounds with my new 7970 at standard clocks and it was smooth on ultra settings at 1080p. Memory usage was around 2020mb.

Mantle will let him run high post aa and 4xaa lol.

Post AA in BF is like smearing Vaseline all over the screen imho, not a fan. It's ok on low. I only run 2XAA as I'm on 1440P, everything else set to ultra as in my video. Averaging 60fps, very happy that I don't need to upgrade to play it, wasn't sure my 780 would cope.

If you're running MSAA there's really no reason to run post AA with it, post AA adds sort of a blur/haze to edges which completely ruins the point in using MSAA.

Yea post aa is mainly for those that don't have the performance to run msaa or above. I would be happy enough with your performance as well.
