***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

well i'm pretty impressed how my 2Gb 670 is holding up @ 1440p.

Using the Ultra preset and only disabling AA - game plays nice and smooth!

lowest I saw was 35fps when the skyscraper came down but averaging 55 which is liveable! :) happy days

PS - This is using the BETA drivers now :)

Both cards @ 98% :D

Just going to try all 3

Getting around 50-60 percent usage here on sli at 2560 x 1600, full ultra settings with beta drivers. Though game does generally feel quite smooth and plays OK. With some time I don't so why Nvidia won't have this running sweet :D

P. S. CPU usage is up and down from less than 40 to over 70 percent but over all 12 threads :)

Its not bad for me, last time I played against greg on bf3 (siene crossing iirc) he went something like 7-1 on my sorry ass :D

Found someone using a wall glitch already *sigh* shame the wall didnt stop me bringing the pain

It doesn't take them long to find exploits. Hopefully they have some of them sorted before release, as I am proper enjoying it. Could do with a little more colour but hey ho, hit reg and game play are good :)

3570k @4.3ghz and 100% cpu usage across all cores. Xfire 7950s keep me locked at 60fps and about 70% gpu usage, but occasionally jumping up to 100% when there are big effects and dust. That's on ultra but 2xAA at 1440p.

Defo cpu bottleneck.

Reg does indeed seem to be a lot better. Moreso than bf3 in it's current state.

@Devrij, pretty much the same as bf3 then, it also shines on i7 cpu's. Iirc with a 3570k @4.5ghz and sli i was getting cpu use upto 92%, 80% max gpu use. Switching to a 3770k even at stock saw cpu use of 60%, gpu use into the low 90's.

So far my frame rate is up and down 50fps to 120fps but game feels proper smooth.

I don't understand my gpu usage tho first couple games it was rock solid 90s now it's all over the place.

There is no doubt that the [email protected]+ is working the competition unless its the extreme or 4930k. Im playing with 3 other guys and they all just upgraded to 4770k and 4670ks and they are not happy :P, i told them to wait, they also upgraded to nvidia 700 series card and again i told them to wait for the benches.. Im sure at some point the performance will even out (before mantle that is) but for now in the beta its not to shappy being on a fully fledged AMD machine.

One thing Nvidia users have to remember is....Dice are in AMD's pocket and they have spent a lot of money on this, so expect to be fully optimized further down the line. Performance will be sorted for you guys but beta of BF4 is only a few hours old.

Fair play to AMD for splashing out :) Let's see how Mantle does in December.

So, everybody enjoying it? I feel it is like BF3 too much, even in looks but do love when the skyscraper comes down :D

I really like it :)

I would enjoy a few more fps so think I will switch to 7970 (or possibly 290x)

My favorite game mode is rush so looking forward to playing that when the full game is released.

Here's my results.

  • 5x60sec runs
  • 64 man server
  • Conquest mode

  • All on Ultra, 4xMSAA.
  • 1440p monitor at 120hz.
  • I am using the latest BETA NV drivers with ToastyX pixel clock unlocker.
  • I have returned my 2x670s to their default OCs.
  • My chip is running at 4.6Ghz OC.

Frames Time (ms) Min Max Avg
3332 60000 16 75 55.533
3307 60000 12 76 55.117
3327 60000 30 72 55.45
3324 60000 36 77 55.4
3847 60000 6 113 64.117

Overall Average
3427.4 60000 20 82.6 57.1234

Average frames looks bang on target, although those mins are a bit worrying, some of this may be because of the menus/death sequences - is it just me or do they run like ass?

Hopefully when the full release hits this will go north of 60, otherwise it's upgrade time again!

EDIT - Oh yeah, and that last result was bizarre

Guys how do you see hoe much VRAM you are using? I'm getting that old problem from BF3 where the frame rate drops to signle fingures then shoots back up again at random times, think it's using more that the 2GB of VRAM at 1080P :/

Get GPUZ to log in the background. Play until the issue reappears, then bang out and check the graphs.

Results on my setup (currently running at 4.6). All on a 55-64 man Conquest Large server over around 15 mins using fraps.

Preset Min Max Ave
Ultra 11 63 31
High 12 74 39
Med 11 68 45 (I think some n/w issues hit results)
Low 14 92 52

Ultra used just under 2.4Gb VRAM and Low ran at 1.3Gb and temps were pretty steady at 70-71'C. 99% usage throughout all the games. All cores on the 2500K were given a very good workout with workloads at 95/99/99/100% at one point (using coretemp logging and all 4 keeping in the 80-90% range most of the time) and temps maxing at 59-61'C.

Would hypertheading help ? I am not sure an 8 threaded, 4 core latest gen i7 at 4.5G would gain anything significant over a higher clocked 2500K ? And of course another 7950 for xfire.

well for me it runs like poo :(

NVIDIA Drivers 331.40 running SLI GTX770

Max memory used was 1918,
GPU load average is 30%
CPU usage was high 90's
FPS seems to hover around 40-50

I had to turn down some settings but still very laggy did not seem to make much difference.

I know we are playing beta but seems to highlight my lack of CPU threads.

Not playable at all for me i hope Nvidia can sort out much better drivers on release.

All 8 threads on my i7 3610QM are seeing 40-70% useage, my gut instinct tbh is this CPU (or those with similiar performance) is more than adequate with the game for all but high end multi GPU it definitely not struggling CPU wise on this.

EDIT: From playing about with it on a 4 core CPU as well as this 4+4 one I do think though they've designed it to utilise 8 threads/cores for the sake of it and is responsible for some of the underlying latency I'm noticing.
