***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Just spent an hour or so on a server over a few different maps using Mantle with xfire and it seems like it works fine now. The graph looked normal and there was no spiking or excessive vram usage etc.

Settings were ultra/4xAA/@130% fwiw.

Perhaps I missed the memo or just got lucky maybe :D

Playing it now at 150% res scale, (native res of 1920x1200) ultra settings, no msaa, everything else maxed. Though i do have to limit fps to 100 as temps get too high on my top 780, (79c) and it knocks cpu temps up too. 74c on a 4790k at 4.7ghz, 1.300 vcore. Id love to watercool the cpu but it's pointless unlesss i delid it. Which im too scared to do.

Full custom loop Rob. Water cooling is the best for high volts and keeping temps down.

Only on Crysis 3 if they used max settings and x8 AA. If they used x4 AA it's fine. The other games are all well below 4gb at 4K maximum settings. :)

Good to hear Pete. Next time you play, before you quit can you Ctrl+Alt+Delete and tell me your system memory usage for BF4 please? Cheers. :)

Got a link for where you got those charts please? I am curious to the date.

Nvm, with a 980 on it, I can see it is newish and yer, with the 980 being out 2 weeks, it needs a refined driver. Hopefully it won't take 10 months to get the guys with 980s/970s smoothly gaming.

Seconds out, ding! ding!

And its a strong right hand from Gregster.....

2 week tech excuse is a bit of a cop out greg.:p, Maxwell's been out for 8 months.

4k, 3 & 4 way sli will almost certainly be smashing the 4gb vram cap on these cards, hense the mess of frame latency, likely a similar story with everything else 4gb and under.

1440p is a mess 3/4 way too, 2 way@4K doesn't have a vram issue so it's not vram related.

If single/dual don't have an issue(if you look for the black/orange result in the pic), I'd say it's more a scaling problem.

Sure they'll get on it.

Nah bro, this is Maxwell V2. Its 2 weeks old :o

Ah didn't see the 1440p results, yer looks pretty hectic.

As far as new tech, yes it is, the 750ti isn't 3/4way sli capable, these are the first Maxwell cards capable of it so drivers/fine tuning appears to still be in its infancy. Also the 750ti doesn't have the vram system (forgot its official name) the new Maxwell cards have.

IIRC 750ti's arent SLI able at all?
Since some games scale well others dont i'd imagine its a driver issue
I doubt drivers one either vendor for one of your low cards are the same as the current high end

Personally I still think the bus will be a hindrance at 4K on titles like BF4, the new vram advantages come when less textures change on the screen, with something like BF4 you could easily see 80-90% of textures change at a time.

I see this new tech as a stop gap until stacked memory (finally) hits the mainstream. At which point it will have little relevance.

Nvidia lately have dropped the ball with there driver set.. I seeing loads reports of stutter and driver crashing on other games also.
Not supporting latest games with SLi, :D:p And then this game having issues with SLI for long as I can remember they been this report.

I though AMD was the ones with bad drivers.

I cannot get this frigger to run in DX now, even re downloaded game last night fresh and will not run in DX mode. Because I was getting CPU spiking in Mantle, I wanted to run in DX and see what was what and now can't run in anything as game crashes on load :-( Can play all other games with DX... BF4 is annoying me yet again

Zero stuttering or crashes on my 780 or 970. Think you're over exaggerating a little. People don't really talk when everything is going well, only when they have issues. I've seen AMD folk complaining about Mantle in BF4 still, however I'm not going to over exaggerate like you and say loads of reports of crashing in BF4 with Mantle.

A little banter is good for the souls and nobody should take it personal. I feel we all share the same passion as PC enthusiasts and want out fellow gamers/builders/benchers to have no problems, regardless of vendor.... I must confess to having a rye smile when my nVidia cards knock down those 290Xs though but all in good spirit.

On saying that though, nobody should be baiting or rude and this is where the line gets crossed in here at times. Keep it civil and play nice and everyone can get along without deletions :)
