***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

The Fall Patch runs the same for me, it ran well before it anyway, but they haven't fixed some of the bugs, Net Code / Hit Detection is still just as bad...

Its also introduced new annoyances, high server and client ping's (very noticeable in Latency) randomly enemy and friendly indicators disappear so you don't know whose friend or foe.

The Game is really beginning to #%£$ me off now.

Which is why i stick to FPS like CS :)

Played a round last night, First time for about 3 months and was pleasantly surprised at how much better it felt, And When I died I did not think BS all the time ( although i only died twice )

Now if I had only just bought it I would be quite happy getting it for a bargain price, But it's a little too late for me to be thinking about rushing out on release day of bf5, Think it's worth waiting a few months for the bugs to settle.

Good to hear Pete. Next time you play, before you quit can you Ctrl+Alt+Delete and tell me your system memory usage for BF4 please? Cheers. :)

Ok, just had another hour in conquest large on Dawnbreaker followed by Shanghai and system memory usage was 5.3GB (8GB RAM) and VRAM peaked at 3.38GB.

ED: Guess it hasn't been fixed then... Still, it was good for a long round or so on a big conquest map and seemed fine over several rounds of rush.

The friendly indicators are now a setting you can adjust. You can change how far they disappear etc

See this video for better explaining.

A lot better than you might think with a PLX mobo :D
It's obviously not the perfect solution, but being at 1080p is more the bottleneck here in most situations.

Just waiting for more 1440/144hz monitors to hit the market really (or more 3440 options... Can't decide). Either that or stick with two cards.

Remember, stuff like Firestrike etc isn't really my thing and a 5Ghz capable 2600k does just fine in the real world.

Yea i can see it doing just fine, even if its bottlenecking you're probably exceeding monitor refresh rate anyways or hitting vsync frame cap :D

Mental. Installed these new October 6th drivers... running below spec... BF4 is now maxed out (although no MSAA, as it used too much memory), but ULTRA everything and HBAO and getting 100fps+ at 5760x1080.... never seen figures as high as this with Mantle... sooo smooth and no CPU spiking... somethings worked in last update.

So, looks like to get benefits you need to not only remove every last trace of AMD driver (which I always do) but re-download BF4 from scratch and hey presto. Not sure I'll move from these now... running borderline perfect!

Was running 14.9 just installed 14.91 Beta. Tried Mantle on BF4 with my 7990. Stutters like mad and game crashed with Mantle driver problem. Also computer is reporting low memory. When are DICE going to fix this memory leak?

Back to DX11 again.

See this is what I don't understand, how come mine is running sweet as now, was on for an hour, the only think I have to watch is overheating so, I put fans at 100% to keep it all in the 80's... but bar that was superb...I did used to have all this crap now it seems it's all gone away...

Might have something to do with you having 64gb of ram and me only having 16gb. Maybe it will take longer for the memory leak to use all of your ram.

Looks like the 980 is kicking out some great frames in this.

The extra perf from overclocking - 20% @ 1440p and 25% at 4k is very impressive over the stock card.

But it's only 13% more at 1440p for an extra ~25% more in cost over a 780ti.

Wish they'd put the 970 in there OC'd as I think that would be a decent result with the near stock 980 performance it can deliver with an OC for ~£260

Still, 80fps from a single card at 1440p, with everything turned on in BF4 is impressive.

80fps is impressive indeed, throw a swift into the mix to deal with the minimums and you're laughing.

For what it is, it's an impressive card, just hope gm200 offers something on a whole other level!

Been messing about with res scale lately, normal res is 1920x1200. Set 150% on ultra settings. Looks very nice, but with a 60fps limit set, (helps with temps) fps drops as low as 30 on shanghai cq large 64 player.

Indeed very impressive at that res, iirc one 780 netted me an average of 80 at 1920x1200 on the same settings.

i'd be interested to see what people thought in a blind test though, mantle is very very smooth, enough i think to feel smoother than the stock 980 or overclocked ti
