***THE BF4 BENCHMARKS THREAD***

Tried Duvar's suggestion of setting low cpu priority in task manager.

Cpu low priority.
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
10039, 120000, 57, 115, 83.658

Default.
Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg
1477, 20951, 28, 103, 70.498

Utra settings, x2 msaa, HBAO on, post aa off, 1920x1200 res. 4770k '4.5ghz, stock speed gtx 670's in sli. One boosts to 1189mhz, other at 1150mhz.

That is nuts.

Don't know whats happened whilst I've been at work today but all of a sudden I'm getting full GPU usage :) It still lags a bit but at least my GPU's are doing something more than just using electricity :)

CPU was @4.1

Hi guys,

i registered here, after i saw a lot of people having problems.
I am from Germany, so please keep that in mind, because my english is ....
I hope you can understand everything :D

Ok i just want to help, so what you can do is, if your FPS drops drastically even if you have a good PC.

1. Start BF4 than switch to your taskmanager and switch priority of BF 4 to low, that will help.

2. Another tip in our german forums are, that you will have a great boost if you are running the game on windows 8.1.

3. CPUs with 8 Cores ore more run this game better but with the two tips above the i5 users will gain more fps and whats important is, you will gain more min fps and it will not drop so hard.

Hope this will help you guys and greetings from Germany.

Well, that worked for me. Many thanks for that.

Just had my first full round at these settings:

Played smoother than the supposed average of 33.4fps suggests. :)

I think my FX6300 and 2GB 7850 combo might be OK after all. I don't mind dropping my graphics settings a bit more either.

Interesting. I wonder if i will get better GPU usage with my 2500k using this? I see you have an i7 so maybe not.

Performance is fine though. From my brief 30 minutes with it today, framerates were always above 60 99% of the time at 1080p Ultra but GPU usage on both my 670's was always between 65-85 % : /

Nice results, ok i am happy that i could help.
It was worth to register i guess :D
The Tip to lower the cpu priority especially helped i5 users.(but not only)
Everything should run smoother.

Give it a try jono and see how it go's, be interesting to see a before and after comparison on an i5.

Indeed. Will give it a try tomorrow.

Pretty impressed with the performance of my 670's though considering they are only being used at about an average of 75% and still getting above 60fps all the time .

You're in for a big shock if you ever move up to 1440p/1600p. ;)

Look forward to seeing your results. Do you run the cards at stock or oc'd? Tbh im pretty impressed with how theese pair handle it at stock speed. Full release could be a bit different though.

They have a mild core offset of +56 which funnily enough gives them boosts on the core that are exactly the same as yours (1150 and 1189)! Spooky :p.

They also have +405mhz on the memory (so ~6800mhz effective).

Weird lol, ive only clocked theese to +80/+600 in benchmarks. Results in core clocks of 1257mhz and 1228mhz, memory on both at 7504mhz. But temps are a problem on the top card as theyre non reference design cards.

Setter, you are my Heaven 4 nemesis. I will defeat you one day.
Ahh, seen that just now. Yet to run it on the new cpu, tbh heaven was the only bench that my 3770k could run without flaking out. I could possibly get more by clocking the cards independently in ab. My original is a very good clocker, (+130/+760). Second card aint near as good.

Mine go to 1280MHz boost but in Heaven 4 drop to 1200ish. Stupid nvidia. I might have to point a desktop fan at them to maintain the boost longer to beat yours.

Whack your fans up and try this little mod.

Setters ghetto sli cooling mod mk1

The above was with a 120mm fan, a 140mm worked a good bit better though. Id actually considered buying another good clocker from illuz on the forums here and selling the weaker card. Spent the money on a new board and cpu instead after also selling my z77 kit.
